My problem is that I'm not the type of person who you can just tell this incredible story to, and have believe that its the truth with no solid evidence. I actually went as far as to read the entire Bible and let me tell you...if half of the "Christians" out there finished this thing, front to back, they would probably renounce their faith.

I wonder about that...or my family is reading an edited version of the bible.

Did you know there was ~erotism around the 1100th page of the Old Testament? There's a man saying to a woman how beautiful her foot are,how awesome her boobies are,how her nose is like someplace's tower...

He wants to do foot massage lol!

To be honest, there's little point reading the whole bible. It's not worth bothering. Most of it is completely dated or inappropriate compared to modern thoughts and ideals. I've read a lot of it, some parts are better than others, but I hardly thing people would renounce their faith from it.

I find it to be quite an interesting read actually, I've read a variety of versions of it and it helps you get an understanding of how cultures may develop over time. From just an analytic point, I find it very interesting. It is also useful to those interested in literature since it shows the many ways a single story can be told.

I read Job (King James version) loved it. Religious or not I suggest everyone read it even as just a stand-alone literary piece.

That's true. My friend believes in God, but not the written Word of God. It's unfortunate really.

I believe in the written Word of God. But I don't read the Bible. And that's why I go to church, to recieve the Word of God from the pastor. He reads the scripture aloud and gives the meaning behind it. And that's how all christains should be. I doesn't matter how you recieve the Word, written, spoken, or both, as long as you have faith in what the Bible teachs and says and live the lifestyle of a true christian, you should be alright.

I am not religious, however I think religion can be a positive thing to many people. In a way, it is a great sadness to me the I cannot believe in a higher power, because there have been times in my life when I think it would have been tremendous help to me to have some sort of faith. But I just find myself unable to; I don´t know why.

Mino I am the same, I do wish I could have a religion. Perhaps that is why I like to study them. My views of the afterlife greatly depress me and while I'd love to think of a form of heaven, I don't believe in one. I can't change that and I shouldn't believe just for my own comfort.

I believe, with a lot of room for changes in opinion, that we don't have a governing deity as such, rather some force that created us in the first place. Deism would cover it to an extent, as I feel as though something must have created us beyond random chance, but has not necessarily stuck around to see the universe through.

On this topic, what do you guys believe comes after death?

Well, at a point when I was set on my view, I believed the same, but now I prefer to have a better outlook.

The brain continues to function for roughly 10 minutes after death (As long as it wasn't destroyed). Now this may seem like next to nothing but I'd like to speculate that these 10 minutes last as the nture of dreams do, and that you go into a state of comatose if you will. There you can live out a life, a heaven or whatever it is your subconscious desires.

Maybe that's just my hopeless view on the cycle of life, but since reaching that conclusion I've never feared death nor injury in my life.

Well, logically, with that we know right now, only void should happen at death.

But with people experiencing visions when they are brought back from a very deep coma, scientifics wonders if it's the brain who goes high or if really there's some kind of exterior conscience linked to the brain or maybe the brain goes high and is the one creating our conscience.

We don't know enough to be sure and I'm honestly troubled with these visions.

Still, for now I believe nothing happens after death but void.

The evidence does point towards a nothingness after death, but if I were to believe that I fear I'd end up like my friends and fear death.

I am not a man of religion, but I do consider myself a man of faith/god. There is no doubt in my mind that there is something greater than us out there, a Human to our Ant, so to speak. What it is, what it wants, or even how it thinks are completely alien thoughts to me, though.
