Aw but it was funny, Tucker it is then.

That was actually my first thought, "Well I'll shorten to Skare...Wait, we have a Skare."

Thankfully no one has come in with the name Tolvobonapart.

Lol.....I could also go by Krow. We definitely don't need a Rectum in the forum. There's the occasional person who acts like one but that would be an unfortunate moniker winking

EDIT: Another Great Scythe advantage is that it actually has a little better reach than the Lifehunt.

    Question for all you hunters.

You get summoned inside Alvina's hut. There is another hunter who is clearly afk. The host and his phantom are killing the npc's but having some trouble. You KNOW that by acting fast you can kill them easily. What do you do?

I just had that kind of situation. I ended up killing the gankers, but i hated myself for giving the souls and reward to the afk hunter sad Usually i wait and lure the gankers near the afk hunter.

Well, at least i got the gankers. Next time i'll let them kill the npc's and the other hunter and see how it goes.

I'm having one of the best days i've ever had in forest. I think i've died about three times and destroyed at least 20 gank squads. It's good to know that they just can't glitch themselves more humanity, but they actually lose one every time they die.

Yesterday was horrible for me. So much frustrating and exhausting fights. Laggy pursuers, a lot of spear users etc. One ridiculous hatemail too. I was thinking about taking a brake from dark souls, but i'm glad i decided to try one more time.

It's going to be interesting when I get a copy of the game again and start playing...Because I will feel what it is like to die to gankers again.

Never thought about that. The bc animation is stupidly long though. By the way, come to the chat if you're playing. I'm there with Amos.

Yep - the sooner the gank squad kills the ATK hunter - the sooner help may arrive if your opponents turn out to be master gankers.

Also bleed in my opinion except for the Gold Tracer is usually manageable - the speed of G. Tracer's fast attacks appears to allow bleed to build up so fast you my not have time to react. I have been bleed-out at least twice during a fight and I have also bleed-out some of my opponents with that weapon.

It seems like From wanted to make bleed more viable. That's fine imo. It can be a tricky weapon. I parried it twice against gankers earlier today. They were both blind parries, so i'm not sure what was going on there, but both times the first hit dealt damage to me and the second one got parried. It was weird because i didn't try a setup parry.

Post by Brokewilly Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:43 am

Ok friends and forest brethren - we all know WoG/Force can deflect spells but I experience an interested situation last night. I was able to break-up a gank squad (3 freaking dudes) in the township - since gankers always believe pure numbers is the cure for all ills they decided to come down to the lower township to bang old Broke. I never invade at the 1st bonfire anymore - always the area with chained prisoner. So I lure them into the trap (this area is great for that) and the host got too blood-thirsty and comes at me full bore so I started casting CSS (w/ Dusk Crown/Logans Cat/Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring) and the yellow phantom gets off a WoG at the same time I hit him and host with CSS (the fools lined themselves up perfectly twisted ). It appears the Bellowing ring increased the force of the CSS to such an extent it was able to collapse the yellow's WoG - I say this because CSS actually hit the WoG (I saw the CSS wrap around it) but the WoG could not withstand the force of impact. It made the weirdest sound when the WoG collapsed - I have never heard such a sound before. I will be posting the bout in a upcoming vid.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I have had many CSS deflected by WoG/Force before when I wasn't using the Bellowing ring so the only difference now is I had it equipped.

Now that is interesting - if FROM changed the ability of WoG/Force/Dragonroar to deflect spells - spellcasters are now really OP (that dark magic is kicking my SL128's butt especially if I don't have room to evade it). The Dragonroar does have the ability to deflect projectile attacks so I consider it a similar defense tactic. FROM has really made mages a force to be reckoned with.

Infamous thanks for the feedback - anyone else have any other observations to add?

We should gather some data before saying WoG/Force/Dragonroar was nerfed if used to deflect projectile attacks. I may get with another comrade to do some testing - Infamous or anyone who has a dragonoid they should do some testing with the various types of projectile attacks to see if you get the same results as before the patch.

Yeah - I experience that tactic for the first time a while back when I hosted in the forest. I got killed as could be expected when I couldn't get lock all of sudden - I simply got so confused  - then came the CSS to the face. I haven't been killed by it since though - I simply immediately back off and start firing poison arrows. This tactic is best used in close quarters combat since the sudden loss of lock with delay your next attack and since they still have lock-on - you are a sitting duck 😢
