I wish more companies were like valve. I don't even really like their games, but as a company, Valve has earned a lot of my respect.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
They oversimplified the roleplaying part but some of the stories are intereseting and dungeon delving is fun. The combat is decent as well. It's a fun game just kind of bland in the roleplaying department.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Lockpicking was harder in Oblivion, theres a chance to have it all reset at the end >.<
This Fallout style lock picking is really too easy, the Perk tree is useless. I constantly forget it even exists.
As for my armor- Heavy Imperial all the way! (The closed helm is really badass)

The Nocturne Daedric quest nets you the Skeleton Key, an unbreakable lockpick.

Nah, I just memorised the pattern for each pin and got everything with 1 lockpick in about a minute.

@Slake I heard about it, but always though it'd make things too easy.

The skeleton key? don't even have to pick the lock then, just hit x or square until it worked.

Yes and yes. I miss Oblivion's lockpicking which I'm good at for the record and the closed imperial helm is awesome. I love the dragon stamped on the forehead.

Oblivion probably got yelled at for being too close to teaching actual lockpicking skills

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Yes because sliding an imaginary pick across imaginary tumblers in an imaginary lock is so much more likely to teach the actual skill than the instructions you can find on the internet. Ugh society....

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Thanks everyone.
I started Skyrim again. Because of this thread.
Also, I found a few awesome mods that overhaul the game in a very nice way. Makes it very difficult. Playing with these mods on Master is the hardest gaming experience I have ever had. Took me 6 hours to get to the first dragon yesterday. The dragaur guarding the dragonstone and first Thu'um wall took like 20 tries.
So there are any pc players who want some mod suggestions, I have some good ones!

PC gaming is superior. I do most everything on my PC.
It is expensive though.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
I like different things on different platforms. Such as I prefer platforming and fighting games more on consoles, while shooters, RPG's, and of course RTS I enjoy more on PC.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
I don't like when games are made difficult by artificial means such as giving monsters ungodly HP so that it's a marathon just to take them down or by just adding a lot more of the same enemies so that you have more to kill, or to be killed by. So when you say that these mods have made Skyrim incredibly difficult for you I hope that it was done in ways that keep the experience enjoyable still without just been difficult for the sake of being difficult.
Because that's a sort of difficulty that I just can't have fun with.

Agreed Pendant. I prefer when mechanics are difficult, not statistics.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Yah, no, the hp is about the same as in normal master mode.
However, enemies are MUCH smarter, they usually don;t just stik to focusing on your followers, and they scale better.
As in, even at high levels, they can still kill you.
Just getting smithing and enchanting maxed doesn;t mean you one shot everything. They scale to your equipment as well.
Keeps it always difficult.
