@Federally, the books are awesome, but like you said they lose value when they are the only way to learn. Personally my favorite books are Wabbajack (I memorized the rhyme...) Darkest Nights (The real vampires, good ending too) the pick your story one (A pick your story in a pick your story? Gameception!) and the Lusty Argonian Maid was good too. (Kidding, don't read it, just...don't. although it is still better than Twilight)

Some of them are good, but many are abysmal, and its just a bummer reading fake books in a video game is the only way to learn the lore of the world. The concept was good in the beginning of TES, it made you feel the world had real history. Then later it became a crutch for Bethesda, they just relied on it as the only real source for lore, so you wound up with a game filled with 100 poorly written books. I believe your post proves my point well, there are how many books? A lot, and you name 3 or 4 that were good reads, and they were all written for previous TES games and reappeared in Skyrim.

Horker Attacks, the best book in any of those games definitely.

A couple are, but the only funny part about the rest is they were written by interns.

Ok i only read the first and 19th page.

I know i am gonna catch crap for this but i dont care.

I hate the story in Dark Souls. I like the idea...I think it could have been done much better though. I only play DkS for the gameplay and dark atmosphere. I dont care about story its self in the least.

As far bringing TES into it...i love both TES and Souls. They are completely different games and have no real place for comparison becuase they dont really have anything in common.

Also saying "They dont like it because its too hard" is ridiculous most of the people who dont like it for that reason say thats why they dont like it. Its completely reasonable to simply dislike the game.I didnt care for it at first...The reason being i came from Demons and was yelling "WHY DOES HE SWING THE SWORD EFFING SO SLOW!?!?!!? IT ONLY WEIGHS 3 POUNDS YOU CAN SWING FASTER THAN THAT YOU WEAK PRICK!!!"

I still miss the faster paced combat of Demons...but i grew to love Dark.

Either way...if you enjoy the game what difference should it make to you if others dont?

I wonder how amused would the writer of that review be if he knew how much trolling has he unleashed upon these forums.

Some of those books are alright, I just hate the font. It always seems to throw me for a loop.

@Tolvo, I usually skipped Horker attacks, Ill read it next time I ply lol

@Federally, I was never arguing with you, I just said a few books I thought were good, most others are more like text books or can't hold my interest.

To fix the lore issuesBethesda should have added more dialogue with the graybeards, like a "Tell me the worlds history" option with each specializing in a certain field.

But this is all OT, to the TES thread!
