I posted fire emblem as my favorite series under the favorite game thread. Love those games. I literally bought a Wii just to play radiant dawn and then sold it

I love how they have introduced Unit creation in the recent games. I mean, yeah, you can make a My Unit that makes the game bend over, but it's still fun to make your own guy.
Sigh, if I could just find a cheap Radiant Dawn copy near me

So I decided to pick up SSF4:AE, got a discount because the box was a little messed up. Anyone else own it on Xbox? Wanna get some free wins off me? XD

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
I gotcha another to look at...
End of Nations
first of its one of a kind being that its an MMORTS (i know, kinda differnt) and its NOT a pay to play (see edit). you CAN get hero units, but the main focus is using real time strategy with your alotted units (all of which are upgradable and customizable)
its still in Alpha/Beta but check it out... ive tried a few of the alpha missions with a buddy and it was pretty awesome.
EDIT; not a pay to WIN sorry. it is deffinatley free to play.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
Okay, a pair of recommendations.
You like point and click adventure games with unique artstyles and not a single line of dialog? Then play Machinarium! The puzzles are great, the history is told a-la Dark Souls (there is no dialogue, so you have to infer). Seems the artstyle won an award, too.
If that's not your cup of tea, maybe a dark, gritty, adventure game? Then play Limbo. Again, no dialogue, all inference. The game is drawn in shades of black and white, and the protagonist is a small boy without name who tries to find her sister while avoiding a lot of horrible deaths. It's not trial-and-error, it's trial-and-death.
If you love both the RTS genre and space battles, you have the Homeworld franchise, by Relic Entertainment. Seriously, those are some great, though kind of unforgiving, games.
Another game that stands the test of time; there are some great mods for it, particularly the Complex Mod, where you even have to manage the number of officers and crews of your fleet.
If you want a relaxing, physics-driven, indie platform game, you have NightSky, by NICALiS. As is customary of the developers of this game, the scenery that forms the background of the stages got a weird mix of strange and beautiful.

Limbo was so good. That game is a work of art. Really. I think it's one of those games like Shadow of the Colossus, that blurs the line between game and art.
Homeworld huh? I could use a good RTS. Just finished Company of Heroes this morning

I love when games don't even try to tell a story. It's the medium in its purest expression.
Ah, Company of Heroes. <3 You should try the Complex Mod once you get your bearings with the gameplay system. It adds so much to the experience.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
I'm still mediocre at skirmish play. There's so much to it that's so unlike any other RTS. I just get ripped up
The kind of game Limbo is is such a lost art too. Like the original Oddworld games. Love those.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
Blitzkrieg mod forgets about the "fun" aspect of the game, in my opinion.
Well, the thing with Company of Heroes is the current situation of the game. It's an old game (2007, IIRC), with a playerbase consisting of a few thousand. There is currently NO SUPPORT from Relic, since CoH2 is in the making. So if you want to see any kind of change/addition, you gotta mod the game.

like you said, all a matter of opinion, i find the added challenge refreshing.
@Serious: I do play Most of my games vanilla before i mod them, for instance, i have probably a few hundred hours on unmodded CoH, and it started to lose its flavor (as most games do) but a couple new mods later and BAM, i now have 4 -similar- but nonetheless different games to conquer and master to my hearts content

vanilla? But yeah that makes sense, extends the time you can play the one game then.
Also, just to reiterate one of my earlier recommendations.. THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON. It's on PSN US for really cheap now too, so no excuses.

I was thinking of putting that in, but then I realised it would ruin the effect of my post....

I see.
though if you're making out vanilla icecream to be so dull, they evidently don't have this in your country:
The 99 Flake, best ice cream evar.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
So the new Twisted Metal is AWESOME. Really. It's sooooo much fun. It's like the older TM's but online. The online play is super super chaotic. Such a blast. I was just playing in a 7 on 7 team match on a map that's like a small town in California. On one of the edges of the map there's this enormous movie theater with this huge sign that has big like 50' diameter rolls of film. So I gather someone nailed it with a missile, because I was chasing this guy down a highway and suddenly this gigantic roll of film comes bounding down the street between us, taking out houses and rolling right through traffic. Words don't do it justice. I've been playing all day. Since 10 this morning. It's now 3:30 am and I'm begrudgingly turning it off because I know I need sleep at some point.
Oh and I haven't experienced a single bug. I read online that their were bugs in the beginning, but they're only really affecting people with first generation PS3's. The ones with PS2 backwards compatibility.

"First Generation Sony Consoles - Feth you for showing loyalty!"
That should be Sony's motto.
I'm glad you are enjoying it. There are some maps that are truly fun to play in.
Also, nothing is more cathartic than doing a super ram as the big, black truck against Reaper, the guy on the bike. One shot!

I'm all about RoadBoat. It's really fun grabbing other cars and throwing them off cliffs and building roofs or into other players. Never gets old. I used to love Darkside, he's just too slow for me in this game though.

I like balanced cars myself, but I just can't say no to Transformer Sweet Tooth.
How did you feel about the single player story art style? I think it actually made Sweet Tooth scary enough.
