Sounds like something out of a horror movie Tolvo, though I don't want to scare you too much. Good luck with your graft!

Don't worry I haven't seen a Facial Maxillary do a skin graft wrong before - and I have seen a lot, I had many months worth of work experience in the Facial Maxillary section of multiple hospitals.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Why is it that adults can never tell you when a grandparent is dying? My mum just told me that I'm not going to my aunt-in-law's birthday party tomorrow because my grand-dad is "isn't doing well" My grandfather on my dad's side of the family was "unwell" before he died of heart failure and my grandmother was "doing bad" before she voluntarily passively euthanized herself.

Wade it's just as much for their sake as they think it's for yours. They don't think you can handle the full weight of those words and they know that they can't

Mostly because they can't handle the word "death." Adults think that it's "to strong of a word." Also, they think that if they come right out and say that "Your Grandpa is going to die," then you wouldn't be able to come to terms with it, etc. And, as Skare said, they can't really come to terms with it themselves.

I really dislike it when people do that. It seems a bit condescending, kind of like baby speak. Maybe that's just me though. I guess it is for your good, but even so...

But I'm not a child anymore. I'm 15, I'm a young adult and I've already dealt with family deaths twice now.

I know, and I considered saying that they should tell you, but if you couldn't deal with it then the damage would've already been done. When they stop saying that you'll know they've acknowledged you as an adult (I hope).

The fact is if they're still treating you like a child, you need to do something to show them that fact. You have to change their mind.
It's your actions that define who you are and your maturity to others wade, not your age.

I can deal with it. The problem is for me is actually faking grief. I just don't get sad at funerals. Since I predicted the death of my grandparents, and my cousin (spina befida), I let my sadness out gradually over a period of weeks. When it came to their funerals, I had nothing.

Short of going up to my mum and saying, "Granddads going to die, isn't he?", I can't see a way of getting them to realise I'm not a kid anymore.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
I got really sad when my best friend killed himself, and then my dog died a couple of days later, but I don't think I would cry if another of my friends died at some point. I just can't really imagine myself getting very sad over it. /morbid contemplation. Let's think about nice things.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
You should just retort when they say something like that with something not like that, more along the lines of you don't need protecting and you know he's going to die.
Then again, the fact they're saying it may be more because they're in a worse place than you trying to deal with the death.
Also, it's more than just saying you're not a kid, you have to take responsibility for things and be as independent as you can manage to be as a teen. Your rents will eventually realise that you're not the same kid that used to crawl into bed with them.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
That would do it. However you have to realize a lot of adults won't come out and say it even to other adults. Whisper perhaps but not say out loud. I'm not saying they don't treat you like a kid but in this case they're probably not giving you a much different version than they would of you were older

Re: The "let it out" thread.
My parents have had it rough, I suppose. Both my father's parents died first, leaving him in grief, but it also meant that now both my mother's parents will die consecutively. Neither really knows what the other is going through.
Holy christ, as much as I need this thread it depresses the *** out of me. I'm just starting my final GCSE exams, my friend is still bunking school and not telling me anything and I suspect my parents think I'm depressed/suicidal. Bring on summer.

I can't just leave him. We've been bros for a long time. Its just the fact that he lied to me as well about it, even when I said he could talk to me about anything.

I have had friends for ages, and most of them aren't really my friends any more. If you still enjoy hanging out with him, by all means do, but if not there's 7 billion other people in the world.

Trust me. I'm the definition of introvert. Making new friends is something that will not be happening for a good while. Plus, most of the time he's a proper lad - someone you can depend on.

You can't get more introverted than I am. I prefer winter to summer because people won't encourage me to go outside as much.

well I prefer winter to summer because you'll have house parties instead of going out on the town, but whatever reason works eh?
also summer is just.. too hot. I can't take extreme temperatures (this coming from a resident in the most temperate climate in existence

I agree with you there. The Sun just saps my energy, but snow makes me feel invigorated. Oh, and seeing it snow outside but stay inside to eat, drink, and play video games is the greatest thing ever.
