This one will get there. There are still a ton of NOCs to do, plus the new ones in the DLC PLUS the page extra I will do about Oscar once I have info on his involvement in the DLC info.

Also dough, you're barely 10% of the way there, not sure if this thread will live long enough, and there are enough interested members. The guys in Glyph's thread were different in their dedication and of greater number.

Re: There's more to them
I thought you said there were 1700 posts? I've got 527. That is 30%.. Also what did happen to Glyph? I found a profile but it only had 3 posts. Is that because when the thread got merged he lost all his posts?

You said you had only half of those on topic, aka. You only have 260 on topic posts
Well because all his posts were made on the old forums, I know it's hard to believe but over both the forums, I still have more posts than Tolvo
Anyways, he stopped posting before the new forums were up, came back for like a day on this new forum, then left again.
Here is the thread in it's original glorious form: http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/message/view/home/46047802

I remember Glyph's thread.
1 post: So what the pedant do?
2 post: hi
3 post: I like potatoes
4 post: me too
5 post: the pedant is a secret.
Basicly, that.

Re: There's more to them
Car, that's being unfair to the thread, that only happened late on in the thread's life in late december till early january. The vast majority of it is on topic, if I had to guess at most 300 posts are off topic, and that's a pessimistic guess, it's probably a lot lower than that.

Re: There's more to them
I read the whole thing before it was moved over. It was really on topic but a lot of that was the title of all secrets revealed. It was broad enough where any idea was relevant. a lot of questions too if I recall correctly. In it's defense there was a lot of cool stuff and I don't recall out getting so far off topic as a regional soft drink

Re: There's more to them
The one thing I disliked about it was the fact some questions went unanswered. There was one where the guys had to ask like 5 times before someone tested it.

yeah, I think I had one of my ideas completely ignored back when I was holy
Thing is though, these guys weren't searching for lore just, the were running through the data dump files (those guys first used them) and tried to explore things that were on there..
As well as drop the pendant in random locations, their pendant stuff I found really funny it was so speculative whether it would work (obviously wouldn't, considering what they were doing with it)

Re: There's more to them
Yeah the pendant drop thing was never going to do anything. I read through the entire thread and I cant believe there is still stuff we're discovering. All the special bonuses and suff. The testing they were doing seems like it would find everything.

Re: There's more to them
Yeah, thing is they didn't work that much on the game mechanics, they focused on secrets, the doorways which look like they could leave somewhere that don't and I remember a focus on the chaos blade and shiva that was in the text dump.

Yeah, you're right there. Its annoying nothing much came of it, they deserved to discover something big.

Re: There's more to them
Problem with their research was, they based it off stuff that had been taken out of the game, like oscar and shiva with the chaos blade, or the pathways that didn't lead anywhere...
Looking where there definitely isn't gonna be anything was 100% the reason behind them not finding anything of true value, though they gave us quite a lot of lore knowledge along with it too.
And Glyph was ridiculous with his knowledge of the game, he knew it better than blaine

Re: There's more to them
I remember someone saying if they needed info tell Glyph cause he could finish the game in 5 minutes. And dont be too sure about those leading nowhere. Look at what I've got on Oscar and Shiva. Of course they were more into things that happen in game, mechanics and stuff. Mine is mostly theoretical.

Re: There's more to them
Well, 5 minutes is probably a massive overstatement, but if he BB glitched and simply killed Quelaag and the gargoyles he could finish it in like half an hour if he also did the kiln skip glitch..

Re: There's more to them
Ok.....time to turn this thread back around. Let's talk about that giant butthole of a man named Rickert.
First off......I freakin' hate this guy. Next time I play, I'm murdering him just because. Now that that's out of the way:
What do we know of Rickert? Not a whole heck of a lot. He doesn't like to chat and prefers to stay locked up. He even asks you not to help him out. This could mean he knows a way out but is refusing, similar to the Crestfallen warrior. He doesn't sound as hopeless as CW though so what is his motivation? Perhaps he seeks to avoid those who put him in the cell in the first place. Or did he find his own way in. Anyway, he has ties to Vinheim and works exclusively with the sorcery stuff. He can sell spells to you meaning he knows a few but he isn't privy to anything major. Perhaps Rickert dedicated himself to the physical world, a departure from the Dragon school who use cloth and sticks for gear. Interestingly, Rickert is the only blacksmith who does not have a hammer. I don't recall seeing him use one and the jerk certainly doesn't give you one when you stab him with a spear through the bars. This implies he's actually a fairly adept sorcerer as he is then capable of manipulating the structure of the weapons with magic, as opposed to other physical means. On the surface, it could be argued that he merely adds a permanent version of magic weapon. However, he is also capable of reverting any weapon (fire, lightning, etc.) to their base state, a feat all other smithies use a hammer for. He is also able to reinforce weapons, something done with a hammer, or tools like we use.

And why no Priscilla in the OP?

It takes time mate. I've got a list of those who I want to do next. Atm next up is Logan. After that I probably will do Pris. I have a ton of ideas on her. Its really a question of them being mentioned in the thread.
And dont worry, as you can see Im in a massive bromance with Oscar.

Bleh Logan = boredom! I want a discussion about whether Priscilla is wearing a fuzzy dress or if those are her wings wrapped around her, not nonsense about clown hat!
