Flame God Flann. Who is he?

Post by Johnthethird on Tue Mar 26, 2013 10:38 pm

I believe that in Lordran, there are lords, and gods. But they are seperate. The lords are the people, or the relatives of people who gained the lord souls. But the gods, are just gods who existed before the first flame.

I think that Flann is one of those gods. Perhaps he was the one who created the first flame, and also pyromancy? IDK. It wouldn't make much sense for him to just be another lord, because we already have a lord for flames. That is the witch of Isalith.

It is also possible that he could be Isalith's brother, but I like the god theory better. thoughts?

everyone seems to say that and it is true. But the gods you are on about in fact did not always exist but got their power from gwyn (to the best of my knowlage). Read the lord soul fragments of gwyn, seath and the 4 kings. One of them says it i think.
There may be other gads who get there power from elsewhere but the ones in gwyns panthegon got power from him.

Where is the source that says that Flan is one of gwyn's panthegon? Same goes for velka. It would not make sense for him to be called the "god of flame" if he was subservient to the person who's main power came from the flame. You would think that the "god of flame" would be the one who created the flame. As in, flame did not exist before him. Also, how does that make him a dessert.

Clearly it speaks of Flandre, god of all pyromancies in Dark Souls.

Although, 'I do look forward to seeing if that question would be answered in DS2 for you.

Agreed. Do you like Touhou as well, Rynn? I recall you once saying it was sub-par, and then saying it's amazing, in one of your streams. And now, you link us music based on a character in the 6th game!

    .....+1.

Are you trolling me? I do not see how this has anything to do with dark souls.

    I think be was joking...

I think as with Velka that these gods are gods in other regions than lordran. Equally They could have got their power from the flame, but not received souls as powerful as the 4 lord souls.

This kinda thing is the point where the lore becomes mindless speculation, much as who sen, the firstborn are etc, where all father Lloyd and gwynevere have gone.. We just don't and can't possibly know.

Flann got married to Gwynevere, yes, but that is the only info we have on him.

Pyromancy was created by Quelana of Izalith. Prior to that existed Fire Sorcery, which was created by the Witch of Izalith.

I have no proof to support this, but my guess is Flame God Flann, Velka and the others were all beneath Gwyn in his prime days while he still ruled from Anor Londo.

Something to support this would be, how Manus is called the primeval man. Primeval means something that existed before gods. If there were Men before gods, I would assume there were also Lords before gods, since Men were created when the Furtive Pygmy found the Dark Soul at the time the others found the other Lord Souls.

seriously, flan is a delicious baked custard type of desert. They also make choco-flan, which is half layer of flan with a layer of chocolate cake... seriously it is awesome, you guys should try it and also tres leches, or three milk cake, a type of sponge cake silly

Anyways, I've also wondered about Flan, I mean he's the God of Fire, and most of the inhabitants of this world are obsessed with fire. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Blacksmith deity was somehow related or connected closely with Flan. Think about it, The God of Fire and The Blacksmith Deity who needs fire to forge awesome weapons.... Oh shhht, actually I feel like Flan, Blacksmith Deity, and the Firstborn of Gwyn aka the God of War, would be best buds big grin

I never thought of that. Flan could be the blacksmith diety.
