Glass cannon for sure lol. There is a lot to consider:

1) At 40 dex...
-You'll benefit from the Rapier's attack rating.
-The only spells you have that will benefit from 40 dex are Purusers and White Dragon Breath, and even then its only 16% instead of the possible 22%. *reference: Comprehensive survey of dexterity's impact on sorcery casting speed

2) You will most likely (maybe not) die before the RTSR has a chance to take affect.

3) IMO, the RTSR functions best with Power Within.

4) A glass cannon, imo, only needs 1 or 2 "kill" moves.

5) You forgot your talisman silly goose


I have some pretty cool glass cannons ideas I've been working on, I'll post them later when I get back, I gtg sorry. But I'll admit, they are based on theory not practice.

Been going over this build for literally ages now, and haven't been able to get it just right to where I actually feel like making it in game. >.< It originally started as an oolacile theme build, but it grew into my baby over time and now I really want to make it into something quality. I've received some help on it already, but more eyes never hurt anyone.

Try this maybe: Slightly Different Version

1) If nothing else just change your armor, I didn't alter your stats.

2) I used a different catalyst for a better magic adjustment.

3) I switched your pyro and gold tracer. I know gold tracer is fun left handed, but your main damage is derived from spells and the combustion --> dark bead combos are deadly.

4) The 2 handed r1 spam of the gold tracer is one most the best moves in the game if you dont get parried.

5) I used HCSM instead of pursuers because they serve the same purpose imo (a distraction) and cost a lot less, and you have 10 HCSM to set up strong magic shield...see vid in the first post.

6) Imo, the most obvious difference in casting speed reduction for fireball pyros begin at 40. If you're comfortable with it and have success, then dont let anyone tell you to go to 45.

7) If you haven't already started this build, then I think bandit was the best choice???...i forgot.

***Otherwise just change the armor.

I'm gonna look at some of the things you suggested, I originally went with Tin Banishment for the dex scaling which afaik contributes to the dark spells, but I'll have to playtest things before I put in the final couple points to really decide things. The tertiary benefit of Tracer in the off hand, (besides the fun factor) was having a shield with both of my casting items.

I actually had str at 12 to open up a tiny number of options for myself should I want them... but I guess they really just end up wasted unless I go to 16, which while more useful just detracts from the build. Rerolling. (Sometimes I really wish we could delevel ala DeS. X_x) Fortunately I'm only at SL50 and that was actually with a minimal amount of work, so I'm not losing much. Better to correct it now than later. I'll leave this character alive to have two variants of it however, that way I can properly playtest certain things.

Ya, playing with the gold tracer in your left hand is pretty fun. But I don't like the combo. Once you initiate it, you're stuck in the animation. If someone tanks a hit, its almost a gauranteed backstab.

I dont believe that the dark magics scale with dex. AFAIK, they only scale with strength,and thats only when using the Manus Catalyst.

I TOTALLY feel your pain about deleveling like in DeS, I miss it too.

Imo, you dont need another shield when using Darkhand with Strong Magic Shield. The stability is so low on the darkhand, that when facing heavy weapons, 1 hit instantly knocks you out of range. I personally think the darkhand in most cases is the best shield for pvp, nevermind the 80/80/80/80 damage reduction split....but to each their own. I'm not trying to push my playstyle on you.

It took me FOREVER to level up my favorite mage. I understand how you feel. "Yojimbo Wizard" is my baby too lol.

Hmmm. Without changing your armor it's going to be tough helping you out. Your wasting a ton of points on End, and a Caster doesn't really need to put points there because casting doesn't use any Stamina. Also there's no reason to bring your Intelligence past 32 (I personally stop at 16) because the Soul Spear spells are much too unreliable, especially if you don't have 45 Dexterity.

Of course this is not to say that your build is bad, just pointing out some things that can be improved.

do you use the 32 int for the crystal catalyst? if i took points away from end urance and int i could prolly make use of more fire balls and stuff.. thats prolly a really good idea. what spells would you suggest me using.. hate to ask this of you but could you show me some examples of what you would do?

No, the 32 Int is for Pursuers, if you would want to use it. Past 32, the Int spells are more for show than anything else. Now assuming that you do increase your Int to 32 for Pursuers, your best off using the regular Sorcerer's Catalyst, as it will be strongest at this level. Of course you could also use the Tin Crystallization Catalyst, and truthfully it will be slightly more powerful than your Sorcerer's Catalyst, but halving all of your castings is simply not worth it when that is your main form of attack.

I will message you my hands down most powerful build, which I have yet to post on the forums, just so you can have an example to work off of. Take note of the Poise, as well as Defense while still managing to maximizie the number of Casts. The order of your spells is also very important, because of chaining spells, but that's another conversation entirely. :bom:
