Hey all, hope you're well, and another thing..

Hi guys, hope nothings falling apart too much without some of the more 'influential' members putting their influence any longer, though i'm sure Fex, E, Baal and co. have got it under wraps.

Anyhoo, I'm becoming a writer for my university mag, The Edge. I'll mainly be doing game and music reviews, but I may dabble in other things too.. depends how i'm feeling

But, I've never really reviewed games before. I get the gist of it but i'd love to get feedback from a community of gamers.. and you guys are the lot I know. Tell me if you guys are willing to give any feedback no matter how drastic, harsh or otherwise it may be.

I have reviewed as well, things like Horror, Fighting, and Rpg's . I find it good to strike a balance between harsh and positive.

Here's one of the most important things I find...Don't give it a rating. No stars, no 1-10/10, nothing like that. Write a review for people to read rather than a little number/star for them to glance at.

That sounds pretty clever...I was forced to give star reviews.

though with the rating thing, I think I may have to.. I'll query with the editors about it as I agree too that it means people look at the number rather than the actual comments, but I may not have a choice..

At least i wont include the number on the version I submit here, and I won't be alluding to it in the text as I don't like to reduce something qualitative to a quantitative nature..

I forgot to mention before I think, but the game I'm reviewing is the HD re-release of Okami, hopefully some of you have played it before

Ill help out when I can. Also I would give a rating if possible. While Tolvo gives good points, Hyprt (Aussie gaming mag) pointed out not everyone reads the review anyway because they dont have time. By giving a rating it gives these people a rough idea of how good the game is without needing to go any further.

I have not, so you'll have to sell it to me.

I say if you don't have the time to read a review, you don't have the time to play a game.

People manage their time differently. I can understand why someone would say they have enough time to play a game and get the full enjoyment out of it and not have the time to read multiple reviews to decide what to buy when the option of glancing at a number is available.

played okami when it first came out, and the wii re-release too, so i'll see if i can help, (btw anyone else notice that the original okami seemed more... "sumi'e drawing looking" than the wii version)

Glad to see positive reception, it won't be written for a while.. infact i won't actually start playing it for a few more days, assignments are a *****, screw you chronic back pain :x
