    The reasons are already well known.
    If a new patch would be announced by FromSoftware, would you like to see the Dark Wood Grain Ring nerfed?

    I'm apologizing for all that trouble I caused. Sorry.
    Anyways the poll is meant to have a serious intention.

    Yeah I would like to see it effective only for those under 25% equip load.

    Yes I would, but this <25% is nonsense. at that equip weight the wood ring is a waste of a slot, and i'd vouch that the normal 25% roll is actually better than the flip.

    I'd say it should just be limited to use on <50% but not with heavy armour. That would solve the problem of flipping tanks, while not making Medium armour users have a raw deal. Most balanced solution for me.

    Just to say though, I use it, on all of my builds, it's great, I just think a little bit of limiting is required to make it a more balanced item, not anything as drastic as <25% equip taking away all viability. Don't want it to become the second crystal ring shield.

    But that said, what will happen is that people will just find another way to stack as much poise as they can top optimize, so instead of ~90-100 poise well end up with something around 70ish with the ring (yes poise ring will become mandatory).

    70ish in poise means there will be no big impact on how they tank most hits, its just ultra greatswords that will become even more powerful for stunlocking.

    im gonna have to agree with mildred and say nerfing need a nerf.....and the broken sword hilt needs a nerf too, i get my *** kicked every time i go against it.

    If we nerfed everything people want to nerf (DWGR, WoG, and BS damage), it would literally be impossible to deal with 3v1 or 2v1 gangbangs. You can't gradually chip away at campers while casually moving about in light armor. They'll just flask, eventually corner you, and stun you to death with the force of three weapons in your face at the same time. You need to flip, backstab, and WoG your way to victory. And you need to be able to do this while having enough poise to avoid being staggered by a stray hit.

    I win against these clowns fairly frequently (no, nowhere near 50%, but probably 20-25% or so), and believe me, I'm not poking away at them respectfully with an occasional katana slash or whatever.

    One thing people really need to think about here, is the current meta worse then what would come of changing it? Simply put here, if you remove DWGR, you move the next best rings up into its slot. The main issue here will become Hornet's Ring. People will run this almost as much as they run DWGR now, and fights will be decided on BS more then they are currently.

    The next ring option is Havel's ring, which will still allow many builds to hit 76+ poise, but anyone else will be running 53+ poise and trying to fast roll with light weps, and then STR builds become obsolete without Havel's, and DEX builds become obsolete without Hornet's.

    With hornets ring becoming the primary meta, people will then feel even more compelled to pump vitality then they do now, which in turn brings back lightning weps as one of the main forms of attack for SL 120 PVP.

    nope. for those who saw the wog nerf thread my opinion is the same here as it is there. its part of the game, stop crying cus they beat you with it and learn to handle them, and if they're not beating you with it why are you complaining? im sick of this places war call being "all good things must die"

    Its fine. The ring is incredibly potent, but reduces overall customizability.

    No don't touch the ring at all... Make heavy armors more heavy. There problem solved. Now tanks will not be able to ninja flip. So if they want to flip then they need to use less heavy armor.

    Anyway, I agree the ring is good for DEX players, but for me, I repeat for me, I repeat in MY opinion, it ruins the concept of a "Tank" player

    Sorry to say. but you are sad. How many topics have you made on this forum crying about DWGR.

    Here's where I am coming from; I have a broken left thumb so my hand is in a cast, I can only control my char with my index or middle finger. I can't dual wield or use a shield to block. You cry that I have an unfair advantage because I use a ring. Get better, learn to counter. They flip, lead them and hit them after they land, simple.



    I run gravelord in the forest all the time; 3v1, 4v1 are frequent. I don't cry when I fight someone who has spammed WOG 9 times( yes, 9 times) and uses TWOP, I counter them, fish them into casting WOG, then hit them and retreat. Find ways to counter.

    You said you wanted a fair fight...but you see I can't have a fair fight because I can't use my left thumb.

    The ring is fine, if FROM sees fit to fix it, then it shall be; but until then just play the damn game.

    The topic creator sent me some hateful messages earlier, so I just had to set it straight. I'm not trying to start a war. I'm just saying he wanted a fair fight (no ring), but I can't have a fair fight because I can't use my left thumb.

    But like I said, if FROM sees fit to fix it, they will, whining about it won't get it fixed, just gives others headaches.
