Unknown forest guard

Once i invaded, as forest hunter, a dark souls friend.
I wasnt going to attack him unless he said we could duel, but he just came at me attacking me.
I didnt know what to do and ended up dying.
I texted him and he said it wasn't him, but something that helps him sometimes at the garden.
I don't know if I misunderstood him, cause he's french and his english is a bit confusing, but it wasn't a phantom either.
At first I thought it was something normal, but I've never seen this happening again.

maby your friend is trolling you, he was being a **** or sumthin... but if it was not a phantom it had to be him as mobs dont have the ability to attack the vador unless its something like the hydra which was coded to also damage vadors and ingame mobs

I thought about it but i invaded him at the forest again
he didnt attack me and even dropped twinkling titanites
also, the way that enemy was, didnt match his playstyle. I dont remember its set cause i was confused at the time, but i remember it was using the ring of fog and some kind of light/medium armor, and its weapon wasnt heavy too

your a forest hunter... i think spirits of vengence can attack you as well as reds... wait... might it have been the hollow thief npc? or someone dressed as him any way?

i was a forest hunter phantom in the world of a friend of mine.
even if it was the npc it couldnt attack me, im part of the covenant also

then a vengence spirit is my best guest, as their blue and blue blends into the forest, with the fog ring you might not be able to distinguish colors easily....

he wasnt a phaton either
I'll take it as him trolling me, cause i dont see other option, although im not convinced at all

He was just messing with you, it's an old trick to imitate the NPC's in the forest to try and startle invaders.
