The man stepped off the parish elevator into firelink. He pulled his cloak close around him, it was reaching nighttime and the temperature was droppping fast. He almost wished he still had his armour on, that kept all the heat in, but alas he did not wish to be recognised so his coat and warm clothing would have to do. He looked skyward and realised it was too dangerous to make the journey down now. His duties had kept him busy most of the day. So many soldiers complaining about their back hurting or hand cramps. It was pathetic. They had known the move was coming, they should have been ready. Too careless the lot of them. At least the knights were smarter, far fewer of thm needed his attention. Finally they had all been fixed up or pushed onto another medicae and he had been able to slip away. But now he would have to spend the night down here, and hope his absence wasnt noticed in the morning. He wandered to the bonfire knowing at least it could keep him warm for the night. He lay back, imagining what was soon to come. War was upon the world again, oh it was a good time to be him.

Avrik bade the Dark Lord a goodbye and took his leave from the Burg following the roof tops back down to the aquaduct, through its narrow passage, his tattered breeches soon beocoming soaked in the swirling unclean filth that flowed its length.
He followed the passage for several minutes, hollow eyes picking out the path, his skeletal hands runing over the roughly hewn masonry. It was dark now, night was falling, and as the light from the flickering candles just seemed to die out, he stepped from the aqueduct in to the crisp evening air.
He assumed it was evening, without skin or nerves he rarely ever felt a part of the world. No wind would ever bite at his fingers, no rain would make him scurry for cover in the face of its wrath, nor would he ever bask in the sun as he had once done in life.
carefully he made his way back down the cliff, hobbling, Shotel in hand, occasionally collapsing against a wall as tracers of pain continued to run through his chest. That cursed arrow, he thought bitterly, must have been imbued with some kind of power.
He though back to the wall, being pinned against it, helpless, watching the merciless eyes of the Bowman bore into his own hollow sockets. Avrik had never felt so dead as he had then. Though he now lived if you could call if that, for the Gravelord and basked in death and decay he had never considered how it would feel to die the final death.
He collapsed then, against the cliff side, crashing down on one knee and feeling his weight slide away from him. He rolled. Down the stone steps clattering as he went until he came to a stop at the base of he hill.
Avrik suddered, clicking his bones as he did so. He was so cold. perhaps he should petition Nito for a new body. One like his old one. Or a new one perhaps.
In anycase he had to continue. He picked himself up with a preternatural grace, sucking air through his jaw, the wind almost seemed to shriek as it flapped between the torn remannts of his once regal garb.
He glanced around, saw nobody and made forth only to collapse once again against the nearby bulk of a shattered wall. He would just have to wait. Perhaps Drake would get back soon.

The cloaked man looked up to see a nearby shadow collapse to the ground. "That's odd" he said, getting up and moving over to inspect it. As he approached he could see it resembled an extremely skeletal man with some kind of serious wound to his chest. "ANother lost soul willing to bleed for my goal." the man chuckles. He drags the body back into the light of the bonfire and sets down to work.

Drake led his group to the bottom of the hill, as they entered the outskirts of the Firelink ruins Adrasteia shuddered violently in his arms. He looked down to see her face racked with pain and her blouse soaked with fresh blood. Her wound had reopened, she needed help and quickly.
Adrasteia's beautiful face now showing clearly the agonizing pain she was feeling held Drake's attention. His trance was broken by Rayne's voice, "Someone else is at the Bonfire, they appear to be robbing the dead." As the group neared Drake spotted him, a man wearing a black winter coat with a black hood leaning over a corpse wearing the tattered robes of a thief.
Drake stopped, and turned to Wulf and carefully handed him Adrasteia, "Please take care of her for a moment." Then Drake acted, he hasted his pace approaching the pair and with a smoothness of movement only gained through constant repetition pulled his halbred from his back and removed the cover from the deadly blade. The heavy weapon felt comfortable in his grip, the weight of it in his brands brought him a certain peace.
As Drake closed the distance he extended his weapon out it's full length, rested the blade casually on the back of the crouched man and finally spoke. "What have you done to Avrik? Speak quickly or die slowly."

The man jumped when the blade as placed on his back, almost snapping the tendon he was attempting to repair, before freezing as he realised what was happening. This surgery was hard enough without death a wrong movement away. He took a deep breath, as deep as he could without cutting his back open and responded "Avrik? This is you-" he stopped as he realised who he was operating on. It took all his training to stop himself from smiling "your friend? " he continued quickly "I'm keeping him alive."

We are telling a continuing story we're coming up with and you're welcome to join it. The hardest part tho is thinking up ways to meet that don't just result in killing.
However this thread isn't dedicated to our story, its just an RP thread, so you could start your own bit with Etraiu and Hihime doing whatever and where ever. Just beware someone may write themselves into your story as that's how RP works lol.

Drake eyed Avrik as he pulled back his weapon, keeping it ready to strike but removing it's weight from the man. "He does not look well, yet you say you are helping him?" Drake paused investigating the man, his face was hidden in shadow and little could be learned from the dark clothes he wore.
Behind Drake the others approached Wulf carefully laid Adrasteia down so he could ready himself for potential conflict. Drake spoke again, "Face me and explain yourself, what has happened to Avrik and why do you claim to be helping him?"

The man glanced up as the others approached, noting the near dead woman. 2 bodies to repair in one day, oh it was a good time for him. But even his exaltation couldn't overcome his fear, on the inside he was shaking, an inch from death. He chose to take the risk and continue the operation while ignoring the knight. Looking back at Avrik he noticed energy inside the man was odd, yet even he could tell it was tainted. He pulled out a ivory catalyst as he explained to the knight "He collapsed in front of me. It's my job to heal the wounded. That way they can fight again." He thrust the catalyst inside Avrik. There was a slight hissing noise as the energy inside him ran through it before a loud bang and the catalyst dissolved.
The knight and his companions jumped at the sound and he made ready to swing his blade "What are you doing?" he demanded.
"This isn't a man. He cant be healed like those of flesh." despite his fear his superiority in the this field allowed him to speak with confidence "He needs magic. I just don't know which kind." he pulled out a brown talisman, inserting it with the same results. Avrik's insides began to smoke.
"Last chance..." warned the knight, obviously realising the stranger was helping but could kill Avrik if this continued much longer.
"It's in here somewhere." the man searched through his pack, the knight glimpsing all manner of devices inside. Some even he could tell were not for healing. "Here it is!" he proclaimed drawing a skull lantern from his pack. He placed the lantern within Avrik's body. The energy flew through it with ease, no hissing or explosions. The energy looked revitalised.
"Phew. That's all I had left. Let me just sow him up." A thread and needle later and Avrik was whole again, the man looking pleased with himself.

Drake watched as the man worked, his outward appearance was calm but inside his mind was in turmoil. He had no reason to trust this man, but he appeared to be helping Avrik. A rustling behind him drew his attention, Adrasteia was writhing in pain, a fresh pool of blood building around her.
Drake shook himself free of uncertainty and stepped towards the stranger. He lowered his weapon and pointed back to Adrasteia's prone form, "if you are the healer you claim to be you must aid her." He paused and spoke quietly to himself, "I will not lose her this day."
