    Im lucky this has not happened to me. Ive only liked 3 girls total. First one STILL is single (i dont want to be mean, but thank goodness), the other we dated then i broke up with her. she's still hung up on me, and the third cut me out, so i just unfriended her on fb so i dont get more pointless heartache

    It sucks, Joe. I was in love with one of my best friends, who was in love with my other best friend. Her and I were really close, and it was both awesome and heart wrenching at the same time. Just know that you have years ahead of you, and this will pass. "Plenty of fish in the sea" . . . Cliche, but so true. In 5 years, you'll look back and see. Your life is just beginning. cheers

    The girl... woman I'm chasing after is off to be a nurse and I know I won't be anything amazing. Best I can do is be semi-philosophical, and that ain't **** for **** these days.

    Im gonna be an electrical engineer. Shes going to get an english major and become an editor/writer.... first time thinking about her since i saw her last at prom. I danced with her a bit. It was great and sucked at the same time. *sight* sometimes i hate visiting my family in idaho. Too much thinking time.

    With work that I do, thinking is part, or in better terms is, my work. I always think in physical labour, socializing, and other things I do. I am able to multiple-task in these terms. Always, whatever I do, I think. It's my life's work, and will continue till death keeps us apart.

    Joe - you'll be starting a whole new life in college. Looking back, high school seems so insignificant now. Some of them might actually like a man who is mature about relationships (not looking for a one night stand). It is amazing the difference between college and high school. You'll see.

    Already left my highschool life behind. Im doing a program called Running Start. Free college junior and senior year. If you're smart enough. The scary part is my friends i kept in touch with leaving, mostly Liz. The girl im talking about.

    I wept buckets over various boys (because I'm a girl) when I was a teenager. Every guy was 'THE ONE' and some were more'THE ONE' than others and of course there's always Mr. Totally Unattainable. I worshipped that guy. I joined the church choir just so I could see him and the Girl Guides because he was in the Scouts. I'd have sold my soul for him and he knew it and, what's worse, all his mates knew it too and used to laugh and snigger whenever they saw me. It lasted about four years but, you know what, I got over it and what is even stranger, I met him at a party and he acted like he wanted to get to know me and I didn't feel a thing, I just wasn't interested any more, that's love for you, a fickle mistress. Just hang on in there and remember 'all things must pass'.

    To be honest, the best advice anyone ever gave me when I was a teenager was when I was being a complete fool and dithering about trying to work up the nerve to go talk to this girl at a party. One of my female friends toddled over and immediatly twigging what was going on leaned over and said 'You do realise that girls are just as scared and rubbish as you are?' Those were her exact words.

    I walked over and said hello. She smiled and said hello back. I asked some stupid question and she got her words in the wrong order responding, did a sort of little hiccup, and looked mortified. I said 'oh thank god, I thought I was the only nurvous one'. She laughed and tucked her hair back. Tension broken. ELATION.

    Deep down, we all want the same thing I think and girls aren't so different. It's far too easy to tell yourself a thousand reasons why not.

    Zechk, ive got the whole confidence thing down. In fact, ive dated a few girls, just a few hang outs that didnt work out with the first one, and the second girl would be the girl i posted this thread about. Sure, i can ask a girl out. But i cant do casual.
    oh, and when it comes to simply talking to girls, its a breeze. I grew up with two older sisters and half my friends are girls.
