Older/seemingly forgotten games Empty Older/seemingly forgotten games

Post by Thxodore Thu Sep 19, 2013 11:32 am

Wondering if anyone is like me, still playing the games of old. Here are some I still play, and am curious if anyone has ever played/ still plays?

    Legend of Dragoon (ps1)

    Radiata Stories (ps2)

    Doom (PC)

    Pokemon Yellow (Gameboy)

    .hack series (ps2)

Final Fantasy VII (I play it on ps1)

No, they aren't exactly that old, but I find that younger kids have no idea what these games are.
Anyone have any favorites they want to share?

I'm a graphics snob so can't bring myself to going back. although i do play the prince of persia games every now and then, although they're the PS3 hd collection ones. I dug up the FFVII and VIII PC versions lately, very tempted.

Can't understand this mentality. There are so many games out there which look gorgeous but are just god-awful. I'd rather play something that is a good game (in every sense of the word) but is lacking in looks over something that is highly polished but crap.

It's the same as preferring to watch Avatar instead of Citizen Kane.

Pokemon Yellow is pretty awesome. I think my favorite has to be Leaf Green though. I really only use my copy of Yellow for Pokemon Stadium.

Anyone a fan of Grandia? One and two were great. I've got Xtreme, but no PS2 memory card. Three supposedly had a crappy story.

Also, a game that should totally get a new iteration, is Bushido Blade. The combat in that was great.

Dark Cloud definitely... Who didn't love the soundtrack to that game?

Bastion is another one with a nice soundtrack that was seemingly a forgotten game albeit being relatively modern (2011)

^ Is that that one with the Vita port? It looked ok.

Also, more people NEED to play Frozen Synapse. It's an absolutely amazing strategy game.

    That's the "new" one, right?

I haven't tried that one, just Abe's Oddysee and Munch's Oddysee.

    Not that old?
It was released in Japan on December 2, 1999, in North America on June 11, 2000, and on January 19, 2001 in Europe.
I'd say anything released 10+ years ago is old. LoD is my all time fav game. I haven't played it in a long while because my ps1 is busted. But, I may hook up my ps2 and do a non-save.
I have tons of old games, even older than LoD. But listing them would take too long and I gotta go in 30 mins. Later today I'll make a spoiler box with a long list of what's left.

Only on the original 'fat' models. The various slim versions have no backwards compatibility whatsoever which is silly.
