Re: Random Off-Topic
The whole added scene with Han Solo and Jabba is pretty bad too. I think if they'd just stuck to adding remastered effects to the few scenes they did, like the storm trooper on the big alien thing in Mos Eisley, and the squads of X-Wings during the Death Star offensive, they'd have come up with totally acceptable versions. I just don't understand why George felt he needed to alter all those classic scenes that just didn't need anything at all.

Re: Random Off-Topic
By the way, a lot of the edits have to do with things his wife had a hand in. After the divorce George pretty much wanted to remove any aspect of her that was in Star Wars, it is also what inspired the plot of Padme and Anakin. He felt that you must suffer for falling in love, just as he suffered for falling in love with his wife. It's pretty messed up.

So the stuff he edited in was edited over classic scenes his wife had a creative hand in?

Yeah, that's why they often seem so random. Generally they were things his wife suggested, said they shouldn't do, etc.
It always makes me wonder what Star Wars would have been like if George had total creative freedom originally, with robot luke skywalker, lizard C3PO, and Bat Chewbacca. Along with Stormtroopers all carrying lightsabers.

I really like soul eater. did they start it up again (for god knows what reason) and ruin it, or do you just not like it?
As for starwars, if george lucas released it in the last 5 years, I just ignore it. I've seen what I like, and liked what I've seen, and I'll not let that idiot ruin it for me.
For some reason, people just ignored my last like 2 posts in the thread, and then uprepped reim for saying essentially the same thing I just said, so I stopped paying attention. Would there be much of a point in reading it?

It was the manga forum, that was going constantly.. I think you're referring to the anime by the way you were talking?Forum Pirate wrote:I really like soul eater. did they start it up again (for god knows what reason) and ruin it, or do you just not like it?

wasn't aware of a difference. I was refering to the anime though, yes.
and yes, I was talking. in the locked thread, to clarify. I thought I was managing reasonable discussion, I'm usually pretty good about that.
Pirates always win. it was simply not a win-lose type situation.

Sad to see the Gender Issues thread locked because it was really informative.
Bioware has restored my faith in humanity though. Go, Bioware, go!
TL;DR: RE: LGBT relationships in Dragon Age 2: "The very best we can do is give everyone a little bit of choice, and that’s what we tried here.
And the person who says that the only way to please them is to restrict options for others is, if you ask me, the one who deserves it least. And that’s my opinion, expressed as politely as possible."
Looking forward to DA3.

Re: Random Off-Topic
I dislike that everyone (ive attempted it with, totaling the pirate chick, the elf chick, and anders are all both ways though. That reeks of "cop out" if its true of elf dude as well, because i think thats every romance option.
You can be either way (or both) in dragon age 1, but the characters actually have preferences (you know, like actual people) so sometimes it just isn't happening.
I have no problem with other lifestyles, I do have a problem with cramming them down my throat and/or slacking off on creating actual characters to be "accepting"

Yeah, as was discussed I'm considering restarting the thread myself perhaps with more discussion on the comics end. I even found a little comic from a comic writer I follow on twitter.

Go for it, I think a more focused look at the sexism issue at particular ideas society has about genders' enjoyment (such as this comic book thing) would be interestingTolvo wrote:Yeah, as was discussed I'm considering restarting the thread myself perhaps with more discussion on the comics end. Finished watching it. I honestly believe it's a parody.. Some of the things he says are too ridiculous.
This comment sums it up though:
"Aside from equating Mario and Zelda games to romantic relationships, the really offensive thing about this video is that you seem to believe that Skyrim and Mass Effect are good games."

It's one of those things where it is really hard to tell, it seems like maybe he wanted to make an important message and he's socially inept. It may just be a good parody. I just don't know what to expect from youtube anymore.

Re: Random Off-Topic
That is pretty wonderful. I only really played DA:O, as I didn't like DA2 for a whole slew of unrelated reasons, but I liked the feeling of opened sexual freedom conveyed by members of your party of both sexes and across multiple races if for no reason other than adding to the overall tone of the people's of Fereldan. Bioware created such a complete world in DA:O, from the spirituality of the Chantry, and its contrast in magic using people's, and the histories of its races and how it comes out through the deep personalities of your party members who represent different populations of people. I found the open sexuality, and in some cases the lack there of depending on which character you were talking to, to just add to that depth and fullness of the world and really add to my experience of feeling like I was taking part in and exploring a real living place. That's always been one of the things I've really loved about Bioware, and I hope they keep doing it. I think it's part of the reason I didn't like DA2 also, because I felt so confined within Kirkwall, like they were keeping me away from this amazing world they created that I wanted to keep exploring, but instead was trapped inside this comparatively small city.bunnywink wrote:Sad to see the Gender Issues thread locked because it was really informative.

In a way, I agree, they say books can take you anywhere, but video games do that and more.
