Xbox One, oh God my sides.
It looks like a joke. Full media integration so they can most likely jack the subscription fee up, and it comes with a kinect; so they are pretty much forcing you to use it.

-Not enough focus on games, it's a GAME console
-Design is bulky, specs. arent't exactly impressive for next-gen
-Controller is awkward looking
-Trying to corner all of the markets for financial monopoly
-Etc.
If I'm going to pay 300$+, I'm not going to buy a damn DVD player. Most of the 30 minute reveal he was doing things I can do much faster on my computer.

It's a console for your mum, your siblings and the frat boys. The gamer isn't the main focus this time.

I never thought Microsoft would be so stupid as to do half of the things they announced with this oversized brick.
Unless they unveil some serious megatons EXCLUSIVE to the Xbox One, it's looking more and more like I'll be switching back to Playstation for the next gen.

I can't get over how stupid the name is.
And the fact that it looks like they just cut an original xbox and xbox360 in half and glue them together.
From this day forward, I shall refer to the xbox as the EX-box, since I'm breaking up with it forever.

Re: Xbox One, oh God my sides.
Oh dear how dumb can Microsoft get with this? You made a console for games not a DVD, media etc player. Focus on the games and the gamers not the widest amount of people you have to buy this! I want a game console only, and I hate Kinect. Well looks like I am going PS4 now.....Honestly I like Sony much better. And XBOX ONE? Wow that may be the worst name for a console I ever heard.

Fact:
The xboxone is the only console where it's competitor's (sony) share price went UP during it's reveal.
Biggest fail in the history of gaming.

Re: Xbox One, oh God my sides.
It has also been pretty much confirmed that you'll have to pay a fee to play a used game on it.
From Kotaku:
Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.
Other users on the console will be able to play that game as well, Harrison said. So you don't need to buy multiple games per family. "With the built-in parental controls of the system it is shared amog the users of the device," he said.
But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison said.
"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."
"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.
"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said

Re: Xbox One, oh God my sides.
This is the worst thing ever lol, making you pay the same price for preowned as a new game- LOL
Not even steam sells their games for same prices as consoles- do you know why? because all they're selling is data. If MS make you pay £40 for an activation code of a preowned game you bought of someone.. Words cannot describe how bad that is

You want to show your friend how awesome Dark Souls III is? $70 when you get to his house.
Yeah, way to win over the hearts of gamers, Microsoft.

Least all the gamers will be moving back over to the real console specialists now and all the 14 year old raging COD kids who get their mummies to buy consoles for them will be stuck on the xbox (since it'll be cheaper)

I'm jumping onto either the Steam ship or the Sony ship before the one I'm currently on sinks.

Like Atari back in the 1980s. I guess history is doomed to repeat itself. This time in the video game industry with Microsoft to fall hard. Or like when Apple first tried, and failed, with gaming consoles.Onion Knight wrote:It's gonna bomb. Seriously, all the worst decisions they could of made they took.

Re: Xbox One, oh God my sides.
Just to clarify, on Twitter they have already covered themselves and drawn back the fee for playing on a second console.

-Always online.
-Kinect mandatory.
-Banned used games.
That's most of the customers gone before they've even announced any games.
Good job guys!

They do have time to fix it before the system comes out though. can anyone post a link to the source?

Cheap, cheap. That is what is happening. They want everyone to suffer so they can make loads of money!
