PvP is ruined

I have been at Dark Souls since the day it dropped. It is without a doubt my favorite game of all time. I have had 1000's of hours of PvE and PvP.

PvE is what it is, although I do still have fun with some challenge runs, but it was PvP that kept the game fresh.

In the last several months more and more hackers have crept into the XBOX world though.

Without exaggeration I can say that for the past week I have had a 75/25 ratio of hackers while hosting in the Burg and the Township. There is just nowhere you can go to get a fair, fun. duel.

Not much of a topic I realize, but I feel like I have earned a right to bid a formal farewell to random PvP, I hope to see more events organized so that I can try to take part in them, (they always seem to be on Saturday nights though, and I am a weeknight XBOXer, need to spend time with the wife on Sats). Other than formalized events, I can't see the point, (and I have been TRYING! I spent nearly five hours hosting last night).

I am legitimately sad.

Yeah hackers are pretty prevalent. I have only had a few though...hosting in township is even bad? ugh!

Wow dude, that ratio is terrible. Perhaps you might have more luck in the Painted World?

I definitely hear you about the Burg though, it used to be my favorite spot now I cannot stand it. As for the Township, well, I just never got into the Township scene.

BTW, do you avoid the hackers you run into over Live, I can't guarantee it'll work, but who knows? Maybe it'll help somewhat.

I would guestimate that I have invaded and/or hosted about 150 fights in the last two days.

And EASILY more than half of them were hackers. Karmic justice on command, unlimited stamina, frozen HP bars, NinjaFlipping Havels with heavy weapons, on and on and on and on.

Avoid works well for me.

I have tried that. I invaded a gank squad a few days ago and know that one of them was hacking, so I "avoided" all three of them through XBL. Not even 10 minutes later I invaded them again, so I don't think it has much of an affect, if any.

YAY!!! Yeah I never have or will hack. I still make builds the old fashioned way...

Edit: and at best I'm "streaky" when it comes to PvP. If I'm running bad I absolutely suck!

On the hacker thing try nights? Rarely an d I never joke that I rarely get any hacker modder and such. Only modders who switch to their sets to beat me though that's after a few tries.

I should look more into Musashi's writings. I'm more drawn to writings like Sun Tzu's The Art of War or Sun Bin's The Lost Art of War, but I'm definitely interested in expanding my library on books of this nature.
