Dragon Form Build Weapon Ideas?

So I'm doing my first Dragon Form build. I finally just got the torso stone and I'm level 57. I'm planning on going the Faith route for the Force or Emit Force miracles to get people off my back along with my dragon roar. But there comes my problem. I won't have any poise or armor so I'm planing on leveling resistance a few points and using rings as my primary defense measures. I'm going to use the Crest shield for magic deflection and Grass Crest for stamina but I'm stuck on the weapons I want to use.

First choice is a greatsword so I can buff with Sunlight blade but may be too slow. Second idea I was playing with was the Gargoyles Halberd for the poison, bleed and curse resistance but I have a character with it already. Third idea was the Crescent Axe for the range and the Faith scaling. I'm only planning on getting up to 30 Faith in this build.

Any ideas on a weapon or stats, I should probably put more than 40 points into Vitality....

Any thoughts?

Edit: I have 16 Str and 18 Dex...kinda miss some points so I could use my Chaos blade.

I'm not going to have any armor at all. I was thinking of only leveling it to 15 from 11.

Resistances only use is raising poison defense. It raises your other defenses too, but leveling up your other stats does the exact same thing, but they actually help when they are higher. Resistance also does something with preventing a finishing blow from killing you, but only for PVE.

a two handed greatsword or ultra greatsword is suprisingly fast and i did a roar BKGS combo for 800 damage once.

Seen alot with the red tear stone ring and a big *** weapon, roar, smash, game over. Even saw one idiot cast PW on it once, i just poison darted him and ran off.

I'd suggest a weapon with a good reach and quick enough attack, claymore and the R2.

Going armorless is not a handicap if you know how to dodge and have 99 humanity. Simple as that, and that's coming from a veteran dragon. Don't use faith, Dragon Roar is better than force and Emit Force is worthless. Use a fast weapon that lets you roar and hit the opponent while staggered. Curved swords and katanas come to mind, you also might want a spear if you're lacking in skill but want to win anyway. I like to combine the roar with the Leo ring and a +15 Halberd, if your hit lines up right you got 1100 damage in the bag and the match is yours.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I know a guy who uses a DGA +15 with the roar for pants-tightening damage. He hit me with it for 1500 in one shot. You might want to consider Str.

listen to the people that has used dragon body a long time and use streanght wepons i used a roar once and did a bs for well over 1000 damage with BKGS.

For me, i prefer quick and/or long reaching attacks that land fast and are great for dodging away quickly. I often use the Falchion/Quelaag's FS, Estoc and Halberd. Also, if you're going to be a dragonbro, aim for +3 with the covenant. Since the dragon roar was nerfed, +3 is the best way to go.

i agree on the rank but i enjoy using a big weapon becouse i think it is fun.

OP, since you have low stats, i suggest going elemental. Use those remaining point for Vit, End and some other casting. Pyros would be good.

as a dragon you will need vit but pyro is also a good choise plus you are a dragon, fire is your friend.

Okay, so my build isn't completely screwed other than I left the covenant to join the Way of the White to get some miracles. But freaking 80 dragon scales to get to +3 yikes.

I'm thinking:

Vit: 50, Att: 16, Str: 40, End: 40, Dex: 16 (miss spent points) and the rest pretty much base. But this only puts me at sl106. Where should I put the remaining 20ish points? Dex? I'm going to leave Int and Faith alone and use pyromancies because I like the fire idea. I'll use my roar and PW coupled with my Greatsword.

I've also noticed I'm shield swaping from the black knight shield for stability and blood shield for the resists. Grass Crest for stamina.

I've been using the Steel Ring and Speckled ring for defenses too. I can go halberd and Leo ring, roar and PW for some major damage... Thoughts?

I don;t know what;s your character class so i just went with warrior.

I'd say you're pretty much set. Cuz there isn't a need to increase your stats. But you could put them into dex to increase your AR with the GS since its more of a quality weapon. As a dragon you need poise so i put in FaP and the Wolf Ring.

The lightning avelyn is great after a roar so give it a try. Handaxe is fast so its for supplementing the GS's slow swings. Grass for stamina.

I am a warrior class. I wanted to try to stay away from the FaP ring so I can swap out rings for different defenses. But now that I'm thinking about it maybe the best defense when playing in dragon form is a good offense. Kill them quickly before I take a hit.

If that's the case, remove the FaP for DWGR or RTSR.

EDIT: If you remove the FaP ring, you'll have to use those extra points for End to maintain fast roll.

whenever i play a dragon i always equip the RoFaP and Cloranthy or Wolf rings and i use the Blood Shield. my favorite weapons while getting my dragon on are the Gargoyle Halberd, the Dragon King Greataxe and the Dragon Greatsword but the Obsidian Greatsword is probably the best dragon weapon. it only requires 20 str and 16 dex and using it will leave allot of points that can be dumped into vit and end.

as a dragon, i wouldn't bother with either faith or int and res is for chumps. vit and end are probably the most important with just enough str and dex for whatever weapon you decide to use.

if you want to use the Greatsword, i've found that the best stat combination is 34/18. this is when it will hit the hardest while two-handing it without breaking the bank. plus you can roll as Tarkus when you're not in full dragon mode.

if you want to roll as a dragon, the 80 scales for rank 3 is so worth it.

If I was rank 2 and left the covenant, but went back, would I have to start over at rank 0?

you will start at +1 i think depends on the amount of scales you droped there.

I dropped 30 before I left for the torso stone. I would really like to only have to get 50 more scales vice 80. I hate farming those drakes and the pvp for dragon scales isn't poor.

I also read on the Wiki page that being in the Dragon Covenant severly reduces your ability to co-op. This is no good because I'm trying to get my friend into my games and help him out. He's a first time Dark Souls player and loves to co-op

it is hard to find pvp with the eye but i have not experienced a lack of white signs when i am in the covenant.
