I haven't scrobbled in ages. I'm going to need to compile a list of the artists in this thread and dig up Plastic's reply to me and pop it into Spotify.

What's scrobbling? Nevermind. I didn't realize somebody else asked.

^ Yeah, it's on page 1 before I started posting Austrian Death Machine

I use Spotify more than last.fm. Much more versatile range of music, and it's really easily accessable. That's not saying I don't like last.fm, I've used it quite a bit myself. I don't use it anymore though, and so my scrobbling is reduced to a minimal.

I can't be bothered to post any video's, but for some heavy metal, I suggest Dragonforce. Their songs are really good, and I feel that they are more in the 'metal' section than the 'rock' section.

Though I don't really listen to music like this, I can't deny that it's some of the best guitar work I've ever heard. Ever.

Skip to 4:00 for the solo. I kinda can't stand the rest of it. The vocals are super 80's hair metal.

Hey Plastic, thanks for reposting it! I should stop procrastinating and get on compiling that list silly

Dragonforce is nice but I haven't listened to them in such a long time. I think the last album I listened to was the one with Through the Fire and the Flames.

Listen to Darkest Hour first. If you like them you'll probably like most of the other stuff I listen to.

And Clutch. Everyone needs to listen to Clutch. Maybe I'll just post some videos of the stuff I actually like instead of stuff I just think is funny.

    Here we go.

and Clutch is kind of an unusual sound. Their older stuff is more traditional metal, but as they aged they evolved into a mishmash of a bunch of different sounds. I like it, but it's not traditional metal at all.

Go and download Spotify. Make a playlist of all the songs you like on there, and then come back and tell me you need more moolah.happy After all, Spotify is free, and has a very wide range of music on it.

I personally like having a hard copy, i.e. a CD. I also like supporting my fav. bands.

I also don't have a smart phone or anything, so I can't blast my metal while driving down the freeway.

And if I remember rightly, isn't the definition of a smartphone a phone that can connect to the Internet? Your phone can't be one of the newer phones, if it can't connect to the Internet. I got my smartphone brand new at £100 in 2011, and it works wonders.

I don't recall if I've seen In Flames live before. Stupid festival concerts with a million bands!!!

On a related note, since it's metal, based on what I've seen from a couple live performances.....Chuck Billy is the single greatest air guitarist of all time

Yeah, I know what you mean. So many Oz Fests, so many drinks.

    Not familiar with Chuck Billy

Not a great video but it kinda shows what I mean. I've seen Testament twice and both times I was very close to the stage and watched his hands closely. What it looks like to me, is that he's actually playing along with the solos just without a guitar. It's crazy to think his muscle memory is that good without the tactile feedback of an actual guitar. I mean, I can play some stuff without thinking about it, it's just a go but take the guitar away and I draw a blank.

EDIT: Since you brought up drinks....I went to see Motley Crue with my (former) father in law, his brother and my two (former) brother in laws. My favorite part of the concert was that I didn't die from alcohol poisoning. And I don't think I drank the most. Not that I remember clearly
