DEX Builds without Buff?

Hey guys,
I want to make a DEX build, but I dont want to use buffs, because it can runs out and mess up with the fight, and the DEX weapons have realy low damage.
Do you guys have any sugestions?

Katana's or scythes and bleed them? Doing a build like that myself at the moment(plan for 16 str 45 dex, base int and faith), no use to you yet as i'm farting around at the moment with a SL45 and a chaos halberd.

Use the Chaos Blade, Gold Tracer, or Balder Side Sword. The Chaos Blade and Gold Tracer cannot be buffed because they are strong enough without it, and the BSS is a good DEX weapon even without a buff.

I was thinking in te BSS but it has only 378 damage, I think the best weapon for DEX is the Great Scythe (474 Damage).
So bad these straight swords look so inviable without buffs...

Oh, I dont have the DLC yet, no gold tracer for me...

BSS R2's are great though possibly the best in the game, quick, good tracking and range. Can be paired with the leo ring too.

Don't always look at a weapon's attack rating to judge. Go use it and decide from there. I'd suggest using every DEX weapon you can get your hands on, but the Chaos Blade, Gold Tracer, BSS, and Great Scythe are probably your best bets.

Yes, I think I will make a build with 40 DEX and start using everythink to see what i will like more... Maybe I put some int, to get used to the buffs...

First off, its 378 AR not 378 damage, different things. AR is part of a complex formula. Its not 378 damage- 200 defense= 178 damage.

Second, the murakumo is the highest damage per hit dex weapon (excluding crits and the leo ring)

If you want serious damage though, using a silver knight spear and the leo ring will get you damage above even most buffed weapons, if you get the counter damage (you hit them in mid action, dodge, attack, ect.)

I have a Dex pyro myself which works quite well in pvp but I'm in NG+2 right now and I have trouble killing bosses with it. 4Kings and DLC bosses are a real pain without buffs, that damage is very disappointing. So, if you wanna use it strictly for pvp, it's good but if you're looking for pve then get at least 25 int for the CMW.

Dex weapons are more versatile than strength weapons even without buffs. They have faster speed, higher criticals for backstabs, bleed, etc. You just have to learn to use them. Easy dex weapons are katanas, bows, and curved swords. (Then there are spears, halberds and great curved swords if you want dex/strength)

Sometimes I wonder what people on this forum do for a living. That guy accidently posts damage instead of AR and Forum Pirate just has at at. Once I accidently posted damage instead of AR and BLA1NE posted a huge article on AR and called me an idiot.

Then another time I posted, "Great Curved Sword", and another person posted, "It's a Curved Great Sword.", and I replied, "If you want to be technical, then it's a Curved Greatsword".

Are all the people here editers or chemist or something? I thought my friend was bad, and he's an accountant.

Also, katanas are great dexterity weapons, especially the Chaos Blade if you're not using buffs.

Is a public forum. I correct it to prevent the potential spread of misinformation, mostly among players new to the pvp scene who are less likely to recognise the difference unless its explained. (It also bothers me when people use terms with different meanings interchangeably.)

Damage per second can also be more important that AR.
