    So recently I decided to recreate my Pure Mage build. The DLC has been out for a while and I had yet to try out any of the new "Dark" spells.

    WOW.

    I mean seriously WOW. With no weapons on my person, and no NG+ plays to grab multiple copies, I dominated the Undead Burg for more than 3 hours before hitting the hay.

    My question is is this:

    After the release of the DLC, do you feel that Magic in general has become too powerful?

    It's OP more because of the Bellowing ring, crown of dusk, and crystal cat. that everyone spams I think. But even then it is still possible to dodge all of the dark magic. I've come across people that can basically render dark magic useless by dodging or just tanking through it with havel's shield or crest shield.

    Just today I fatrolled through six casts of dark bead and took no damage.
    Magic is really easy to dodge and just roll bs them if they spam it.

    I voted "Nah.. etc." but I believe that magic is OP in PvE. I mean it's too easy to beat the everything with it.

    ^ Good against all enemies except crystal hollows. That's when you switch to Phyros and watch the world burn.

    I didn't read all the poll options. The first thing I saw was that epic one-liner "You shall not pass"! That trumps all the other possible options. Had to select that one.

    But, the best weapon is the player. Magic or melee can be just as damaging, if you know how to use them.

    I don't find it's super OP, except for maybe Pursuers. Because the only way to dodge them is to roll through them, I find the lag causes me to mess up the dodge and get hit. Or I roll into the opponents next cast.

    Mages are bad people, but they are not overpowered. Even after Dark Magic, I still think they were better in Demon's Souls, and nobody complained about mages being OP in Demon's Souls. Except for idiots who tried to Great Axe R1 spam vs. Firestorm.

    dark magic is broken because it can be used in a cheap way SO easely. And that boost madness doesnt help.

    I love your dexterity utilization.

    I believe your gains are as follows:

    -GF / GC / BF / FT = 20-27% decrease in casting time

    -Dark Bead 9% decrease in casting time

    -Dark Orb 22% decrease in casting time (conflicts wiki)

    -PW = no change

    Those are nice returns with the power you have. Bravo Bow

    Here's my caster: Yojimbo Wizard

    I burn through people, especially when I put the BDCR on. Prolly my soul level. I'm dying to know where to take him. I had a 120 caster, but he pretty much got trashed. I had 45 dex on him, I forget the rest. I had a couple builds I did that with come to think of it. Yojimbo is what I came up with after hours of testing and screwing around.

    I'm reluctant to invest in dex myself, but I think its because I'm greedy. I dont want to give up my fast casts lol.

    I like the Black Flame-->Dark Bead--> Dark Orb LOL (for when they roll away twisted ). I'd like to see what thats like with the percentage gain.

    I'd love to hear more about your playstyle if you have the time. Stuff like adjustments to backstabs, combos, etcetcetc.
