Hornet's Ring and recovery Empty Hornet's Ring and recovery

I just came to the discovery that getting backstabbed by the hornet's ring does not trigger the normal wake-up animation...rather your character will just stand right back up with his back still facing the guy who backstabbed you. I think this also allows for easier chainstabs due to the lack of that animation.

....This seems like a major flaw imo. Does anyone know if there is a difference in how easily you can get chainstabbed due to the lack of pivot animation?

I personally never noticed, but if it really does help in chain BSes then that's just some bull. When I think about it though, whenever I try to perform a wake up parry I'm just doing it with my back to my opponent at times. Wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

Well Vatar did your guy do a front flip and almost bounce off the ground? That is a clear sign of hornet's ring, because a regular backstab will just kick you to the ground face first. If you land on your stomach then you get up and turn around to face the direction of the guy who backstabbed you. However, if you land on your back you stand right back up and do NOT turn around.

This is just a theory because there is little to no wake-up process in this.
