    New patch released! - Page 5 Empty How does the patch impact me as a casual player?

    So I'm a casual player, if you can imagine such a thing in Dark Souls, and I'm trying to figure out what this patch really means for me. I'm amazed how hard it has been to just find patch notes; the only ones I've found were Google translated and were barely English. Some specifics for me:

    - I really don't care for PvP. I know that puts me in the minority, so I play the game hollow 99% of the time and live with that limitation. Once or twice I've gone human to try to summon an NPC for a boss that was giving me trouble. I invariably get invaded before I can get there anyway. So hollow it is.
    - I expect the build I've settled into is relatively hybrid. 40 dex. Most of the rest into vitality and endurance. Enough attunement for a few pyromancy slots. Nothing into faith or intelligence.
    - I'm wearing relatively light armor. Leather armor, some crimson waistcoat, gargoyle helm, and some kind of cloth-ish gloves with high resists that I can't remember. The waistcoat and the helm are maxed, the gloves and leather armor are at +9.
    - I typically use Quuelag's Furysword with the Eagle Shield. Furysword maxed, Eagle Shield at +14. This is important, because I think I saw a note that they changed this shield, and I just got my first slab. Trying to decide what to do with it. I also have a Black Bow of Pharis at +14, but I'm concluding it never does me any good in boss fights. It just helps me stealthily make my way through the levels. I also have a completely maxed Pyromancy Flame, and most pyromancy spells, but have trouble making much good use of it.
    - In terms of rings, I usually have the Hawk Ring on when moving through levels. The other varies. Sometimes the Gold Serpent one that increases drop rate, sometimes some Steel one that increases physical defense.
    - At this stage of the game, I've progressed through things in the order recommended by the Wiki and just beat 4 Kings. I took a detour to kill the Stray Demon. Trying to decide whether I take another detour to Painted World or Great Hollow, or continue onward to the Duke's Archives.
    - Oh yeah. Level. I'm probably overleveled for where I'm at. Around 75 or so? Ornstein and Smoug pissed me off, so after a while I started grinding out one level every time they killed me before going back. Once I finally beat them, I found things afterwards MUCH simpler. Killed Butterfly on the first try, Sif on the first try, 4 Kings on the 2nd try (should have been the 1st; I got sloppy)

    So. What in this patch actually impacts me? If there ARE patch notes somewhere that are actually legible, a pointer to those would definitely suffice; I'm happy to read if I know where to read.

    I can't find a thread discussing all the changes (I'm sure there is one). Here's a basic rundown.

    1. DWGR is nerfed. You can only ninja flip at 25% and below.
    2. MoF is nerfed.
    3. bb glitch, dragon head glitch, and spell swap glitch are gone.
    4. Elemental weapons got about 10% nerf.
    5. Greatswords swing a little slower, so can't stunlock as before.
    6. Hornet Ring is nerfed.
    7. There are more war locations.

    Did I miss anything?

    MoM is nerfed too

    Other than that I'm pretty sure you covered everything dude

    oh and the BKGA R1 attack got nerfed too

    ohh the irony when I got online yesterday and relised they nerfed the dwgr so for fun I equipped giants armor and the mask of the child with havels ring and dwgr. cause when I get invaded and they see me their like ha ha it wont work. Then I flip twords them and beat the bajesus out or em with my lvl 626 toon.

    P.s I think this game has made us all masochist

    Example 1. Otherwise, it seems to have no positive benefits at all aside from adding extra difficulty.

    LOL that made me laugh. MOM is nerfed to.

    So I guess she was Over powered before.

    Thanks for the summary. Sounds like my sword may have lost some damage, if the other poster was right my shield may have been nerfed to some degree, and I get more warp points. And if I do occasionally go live and get invaded, non-casual players that might invade me have lost some of the glitches that I wouldn't have known about that they might use against me. I can live with that. Thanks...

    Oh, the Eagle Shield has been nerfed. IIRC, 95% damage reduction. Don't hold me to the exact number though.

    Seems like they buffed the bridge drake... He's a lot tougher now.

    I hope he is less glitchy. Always thought that was a fun side boss, but it was so glitchy that it kind of ruined it. When it did go well it was fun though.

    Also, you don't get the drake sword just by hitting it's head anymore. You have to shoot/hit it's tail.
