Die-Hard....

"The Crystal Empire" was just overloaded i think, there were too many conflicts going on (Sombre, the Test, The Crystal fair) and it didn't really fit together quite well. If just one of these conflicts were left out so that the others would have more focus, I think it would have felt much better overall.

But the episode still had good pieces. There were songs, there were good jokes, and the animation and sounds were better than ever.

Perhaps the Crystal Storyline will continue on and not be a one shot that never gets mentioned again for no reason (I'm looking at you, Discord)

And I agree. Even for a 2-parter it seemed to be overencumbered with too much crap going.

I liked the songs. The second one being my favorite.

As for the future of the Crystal Empire in series, I think it depends very much on whether Cadance and Shining Armor stay back to preside over the kingdom.

Remember in "A Canterlot Wedding" that Twilight asked "Who is Princess Mi Amora Cadenca ?" that never got resolved, Shining Armor just said shes her foalsitter .

But we still dont know who she is or where she came from or if she is related to Celestia and Luna (since we never saw them interact) .

But she has the Crystal Heart as her CM so maybe she's connected to the Crystal Empire ?

The most detail I've heard about Cadance is that she is Celestia's and Luna's niece. Beyond that, nothing.

Could it be that you confuse her with Prince Blueblood ?
He was originaly intended to be a Duke but since kids may not know what a Duke is he was made Celestias Niece (how does that even work ?) .

Does anyone have a Cadance toy ? There tends to be some sort of description about the Character on them .

I believe I saw a Cadance toy on EquestriaDaily.com in their news feed.

According to this the Cadence toy says that she, along with Shining Armor, rules the Crystal Empire. She is also purported to be Celestia's niece.

The one I had watched originally got slapped with a copyright claim by Hasbro, but this is close enough.

Finally was able to see the new episodes of Season 3.

They were pretty good. I loved the fact that the villain had a dark presence throughout both of the episodes without being there. Well, except for the beginning and the end it made him seem like more of a threat.
