Totally forgot this thread existed until I saw Pendant's avatar in a different thread. What's everyone's opinion on the new season? Have the newest episodes made up for the less-than-memorable season premiere? Because for me, at least, I have found absolutely nothing to complain about in them besides a noticeable lack of Discord.... But I suppose that just to be expected, and aside from that point they've been awesome.

Just finished watching the entire Mentally Advanced series... Celestia's scene at the end of Episode 8 is still one of the greatest moments in MLP parody history... Just thought this seems relevant now that episode 12 just came out

I'm actually the opposite it seems, I've liked the premier more than the normal episodes so far. I actually didn't enjoy "One Bad Apple" very much, as it's messages and approaches to the idea of bullying were rather cliche and not handled as creatively as I've normally come to expect from the series. "Too Many Pinkies" and "Magic Duel" I did enjoy, though with "Magic Duel" I did feel a bit of...inconsistency? I dunno, something just felt a bit off.

Also, a note to Babs's voice actress. If you're going to try to give a female child character an accent like a New York cab driver, please just try to imitate the accent and not also make them sound like a grown man in the process. Thank you.

I loved the first three episodes especially too many pinkie pies.

I just recently watched "One Bad Apple" and the more I do the more I hate the episode. I've never liked the Cutie Mark Crusaders too much and I really didn't think the story for it was that good. So yeah, it really didn't work too well for me.

Recent one was alright but not great, mainly because Trixie seems inconsistent. Mainly when it comes to the amulet, I mean she did know about it right? Then she must have known about the side effects of wearing it too, but at the end of the episode it feels like she was completely unprepared for those side effects. She really just smiles and says "I've learned my lesson" and leaves. Maybe it was just because I was expecting more but it was just o.k. I am still looking forward to more episodes though.

Completely agree that the message of "One Bad Apple" was lost in crappy cliched advice... But that's why I just hate every anti-bullying episode of any kids show as a rule. Honnestly, I liked the anti bullying message in "Magic Duel" better: If someone is acting like that toward you, beat them at their own game and humiliate them in front of the entire town...... Or was that one an anti steroids episode.....

I really liked the way "Magic Duel" started .
It was different than any other episode which usually start with a Sunny happy Day and such .
Here it feels as if were already in the middle of the Story, and i like that approach

About the overall plot, I must say that this is a new one for me.
Having the main character driven out of her home by a returning villain is not something i ever expected from this show, so kudos for that ^^

This episode reminds me of pretty much every single fan-theory about Trixie. That she was down on luck, being laughed at and that she had to do "Dirty" Jobs in order to earn Money and that she blames everything on Twilight .
Perhaps they got some "inspiration" from the community ?

Trixie is the first "villain" to return and out of all Villains we had so far she was not the one I expected to make a comeback , it feels like Hasbro made this Episode just to make the Fans happy, however I worry that she was brought back for the fans sake rather than any real desire from the writers for her return :| .

Her motivations, both for returning and challenging Twilight are so and so to me .
She was indeed humiliated previously by having her big lie blow up .
But on the other hand, Twilight was not responsible for that. She saved Ponyville . Not once did she claimed to be more Powerfull than Trixie or wanting to make her feel bad .

So while I can understand Trixie's need to feel better about her previous visit to Ponyville, bliming all on Twilight is just ridiculous .
She lied big, and when you lie big you lose big .
Trixie had it coming to her

What i didnt like though was that Trixie didnt get any punishment for what she did . I mean she enslaved and cut of Ponyvile from the outside world AND used a (probably forbidden) magic artifact that was likely stolen considering the not really "clean" vebdor she bought it from...interesting stuff

What i did like was the Humour and Zecora in this Episode .

Zecora got plenty of Dialoge and it got revealed that Zebras can use some kind of Magic so she IS an evil enchantress after all which i thought was really interesting , i hope we see more of her ^^.

The Humour was pretty great there were many great lines like "Trixie doesnt trust in wheels !" and there was a Star Wars reference and Rarity was hilarious as always andandand

Except for Saddle Arabia which was just

Overall i think this was a great Episode mainly because of the Story and even though i have a few nitpicks its still my favorite S3 Episode so far

The Mentally Advanced Series is my favorite abridged series but i like his "Rainbow Dash Presents" a bit better since he can actually go all out there
