You vote for what to be included.
You may choose 3 options.
if none surpasses an option, said option will be will be excluded, if none surpasses 50% everything will be excluded.
Weapons, weapons, weapons... The variation in weaponry is pretty impressive in Dark Souls, but some weapons aren't as viable as one would hope. This patch only include one nerf(property made worse) the rest are all buffs(properties made better). this is not to make every single weapon equally good, but only a few weapons where their special nature turned against them, or their close siblings are taking the spotlight because they have slightly better properties.
Here's the description and a few arguments for each option:
#1. these weapons has potential due to a movelist interesting in design, but useless in practise, this will make the following weapons more viable. unless otherwise is stated all special attacks are both 1 and 2 handed, only R2/RT attacks, exact percentage is merely an estimate and suggestion:
Black Knight Sword 25%, Greatsword of Artorias 30%,
Demon Great Machete 50%,
Chaos Blade 1 hand 25%,
Smough's Hammer 30%,
Demon Spear 25%,
Dragon Bone Fist 50%
#2. the description of most of most slashing weapons indicate bleed damage, however Schmitars, Falchions and the likes does not inflict bleed. This will make sure that all slashing weapons have a bleed effect. Gravelord Greatsword, Queelag's Fury Sword and Shotel are not included due to their special properties.
#3. Scaling has been redone, but there are still some cases were scaling is lacking... or doesn't make sense. here's the complete list, all weapons fully upgraded along their normal path, exact scaling is merely a suggestion:
Ghost Blade:E,E-,-,
Barbed Straight Sword:C,C-,-,
Greatsword of Artorias Cursed: C,C,-,-, (the int,fth stats does nothing atm)
Great Lord Greatsword:C,C,-,-,
Jagged Ghost Blade:E,E-,-, Gravelord Greatsword:D,D,-,-, Chaos Blade:-,A,-,-,
Golem Axe:B,E,-,-,
Blacksmith Hammer:A,-,-,-, Hammer of Vamos:B,-,-,-,
Moonlight Butterflyhorn:-,-,A,-,
#4 what most people relate with high weight is high base damage, the main philosophy behind the values is just that. in some cases, a weapon has it's stats copy pasted from another weapon, but weighs more without any benefits to make up for it. in other cases the scaling is fine, but the base damage is so low that there's no reason to use them. the list have all weapons fully upgraded along their normal path, P=physical, E=elemental,
the over-all base damage boost is merely a suggestion:
Priscillas Dagger: P120-135,
Longsword: P200-205, Dark Sword: P205-220, Astora's Straight Sword: P120-150, E120-150,
Greatsword of Artorias Cursed: P267-275, Greatsword of Artorias True: E127-135, Moonlight Greatsword: E198-212,
Greatsword: P325-333,
Falchion P205-215, Painting Guardian Sword: P190-200, Iato: P220-225,
Richard's Rapier: P175-185,
Butcher Knife: P225-240, Gargoyle Tail Axe: P232-240,
Grant: P195-200, E195-200 scrapped
Smough's Hammer: P450-465,
Pike: P215-225, Moonlight Butterfly Horn: E180-195, Dragonslayer Spear: P142-150, E97-100,
Halberd: P275-280, Titanite Catch Pole, P187-197,
Dragon Bone Fist: P142-180
#5. Dragon King Greataxe and Dragon King Greatsword have almost identical properties, but for some reason Dragon King Greatsword is not buffable. This will make both weapons equal and your choice can simply be decided by preferred movelist.
#6. Priscillas dagger has very good bleed values, but it's still not on par with bandit knife due to the lack of critical bonus, this will make priscillas dagger more viable as... a dagger.
#7. Some big weapons has a less critical damage than their lighter equally damaging weapons, however it is not seen on the stat screen and the results vary. Backstabs and Parries are the universal punisher with almost any weapon, but due to the nature of Ultra Great, Great and Blunt weapons, a critical damage decrease is fitting.
#8. everything above or at least some kind of patch
#9. no patch
This is one of the last polls, hope to see everyone contribute!
