Honestly it makes my blood boil over all else they could do to the point where Id rather them eliminate those gestures than DWGR. anyone else feel the same? I never hear complaints about it.

Gestures in PVP?
What is the community standard on this? Not talking bow but Well what is it/shrug/point down. After a win.

I don't like them, but if you let it get to you then the taunters are getting their desired goal.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
It doesn't bother me at all, and I've found the friendly gestures are to most players more annoying.
How would you feel if ganker gregg instead did the "Jump for joy" on top of your corpse? I'll tell you, gankers get so distracted by me doing that to them, that they seem to forget to even yell at me for chainstabbing them with my fist.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
Its never a respectable player that does it either. It is usually gankers, griefers, or laggy people.
The gesture is worse than the offense though. I'd much rather get hatemail.
My dream is to be pvping in the forest and hornet BS a guy who uses a stupid gesture upon killing another player. Probably won't happen though.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
I don't particularly mind. I never do them myself, all my victories (rare as they may be) result in a bow to my opponent. Unless they were being cheap and I still managed to squeeze out a win (even rarer), then they get a point down.
I've never seen them as particularly malicious, just a good natured "in your face".
Can see how it could rub some people up the wrong way, but meh. Not worth getting aggravated about because, as said above, that's their intended goal.

I wouldn't mind actually. I had some gankers all respectfully bow before. I wasn't half as mad.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
I totally hate getting ganked and then getting an offensive 'points to the ground' or something like that, it is brutally annoying! But I do think its possibly more annoying when gankers bow upon slaughtering me as if they had done something honourable....
I will admit to using offensive gestures if, for instance, I kill host of ganker squad, or if someone in a dual does something really sh*tty, like attack on a bow or something.
Had one guy the other day shoot me with DSB when I was bowing in the burg, he won the battle that ensued and then busted out the 'well, what is it' gesture over my corpse....annoying

Re: Gestures in PVP?
I dont use gestures most of the time but the times i do use them is when i kill some known ganker or some guys who did it on me before. I usualy dont even bow since ive been BS'd so many times when doing that.
Yesterday i was doing some forest hunting and saw a hunter and host fight a bit. The hunter was clearly trolling the host doing fist bs's and turning around in circles like an idiot. Then mr host got tired of it and did the well what is it gesture, and while he did that mr hunter pulled out his large club and did the OHKO on the host. When he was dead he put on his mimmic hat for some extra trollness lol.
I had this happen last Forest event we did. Saw a fellow hunter get BS'd and he died, Host did the point down on him, i ran in and gave him a taste of his own medicine and did same gesture on him .

Re: Gestures in PVP?
They invade, i wave. Just to show them i am "friendly" and just want a clean and fair fight.
After the battle i bow or proper bow.
But if they fishing for bs, twop, spamming wotg/gc i use the point down gesture.
its such a great feeling, if an invader taunt me at the beginning and i use my win "bow".

Okay, I will get extreme disdain for this - if someone makes a retarded mistake I will
Good Fight
Too easy fight or sometimes as an introductory gesture to gankers to rile them up
Cliff fall

Re: Gestures in PVP?
If the opponent is ganking or being cheap, I tend to use the point down gesture when I win. For example, I just fought someone who hit me with a sunlight spear while I was bowing, that earned her a chainstab and a point down. If I beat a gank without doing anything cheap, then I'll do the . But I generally save it for the epic wins.

Against Duelists with Phantom Body Guards, I go to the one I wish to fight.
Against other forest Hunters inturrupting my duel, I go in rapid order to try and give them a message.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
During the time I still played I really didn't even bother with gestures, and if by chance I actually allowed the invader to continue in my game and they did a gesture at me it wasn't anything special to me. Tennis players shake their fists and scream "YEAHHH" and it's not a big deal a taunt in a game shouldn't either.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
Gestures are all part of the fun surely, better gestures than voice chat. The only one that annoys me is when gankers bow. I would rather they taunted me.

Re: Gestures in PVP?
i've learned to never bow to someone... because if your slower than they on the bow, (you do it after) you get a nice BS to the back, and then death, along with a message about false honor...
so i'm only going to bow to friends and forum mates.
