******* Dark Knight

So as a few of you may know there was an act of terrorism during the midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises in a town quite close to me, Aurora. 12 people were killed and *50 were injured, a college student threw tear gas grenades into the theatre and opened fire. I hope anyone I know wasn't involved.

Yeah, heard about that. There's some crazy stuff going on in the world as of late. :/

Not a nice thing to happen, but to be fair there's a lot of screwed up things, just part of the world sadly.

Also, real guns suck a lot. World would be so much better without killing machines.

The world would be better with killing machines as well. Extinction is not acceptable to happen to man as I see it as such, but death is necessary and will nonetheless always happen.

Just remember that the tools man has created were at times not just created to kill. Tge axe and hammer, the spear and gunpowder, and all things that were created were at times used for other means. And tools used for other means were also used to kill as well. Even the transports you ride, the chemicals and such you use, the structures you reside in, and other things have evolved both destruction and construction, and have been used for both countless times... Just take that as a fact.

And if you truly believe that such things do not exist, the wild is not that far. If you truley want to change the world, don't expect others to do it for you either. Take in the fact that it is much more complicated than black and white when it comes to the world... Not just man either, but the rest of it in general.

Guns were used, but please don't blame the guns for a person's choice of actions. It's terrible what happened to the people, but if wasn't a gun then it would have been something else used. Get mad at the guy not the gun =/

Yeah, I'm aware that much of the technology we get in cars and stuff we can have because first it was used to make armament advancements for the armed forces. However I still think that now that the human race is pretty secure as the top dog of the earth I think we can put down all the boom sticks and flashy powder.

Yes, he would've done the same amount of damage with a slingshot as he did with an Assault Rifle.

I don't recognize the purpose behind using a slingshot, I was leaning towards a blade or something of the sorts. But if that is the road you see fit, power to you(?). But on the slingshot, that depends entirely on the strength of it and what you fire =P

Also, I don't know what people see on guns. They are killing instruments. There's no redeeming qualiy on them, at all. You glorify killing.

I hate it how these Liberal politicians will try to take our second amendment away over some crazy guy shooting up a theater. One awful demon has to murder a bunch of innocents and it ruins the rights of the sane. No punishment in the American justice system is right for that bastard.

I pray for the victims of this horrible evil and I pray for the families morning them.

But blades are weapons that have been used to cause widespread destruction...Once again though, the weapon did not choose to kill, the person did. They would have chosen whether it were a gun, a blade, a fist, or anything else. It's just them. =/

Though it does strike me as odd when this occurred, seeing as the small arms act or treaty is being debated in the UN with an outstandingly negative support from U.S. citizens...

I don't really want to get into one of those "sword are effective in the modern era" debates. A guy going into a cinema with a sword would be a very ineffectual attacker.

Guns have no place in a civil environment; I saw a video a while ago about some shooting gallery in the US where people took their children to try out some guns. I wouldn't feel safe at all near those psychos once they grow up at all.
