Four Hours in New Londo. uhg.

Banshees do not drop Ghost Blades and Darkwraiths do not drop slabs. I've picked them up from them before, but something has changed lol. I thought it was bad when I farmed the Channeller's Trident for two hours, but damn.

410 item discovery, about 30 trips, 60 banshees combusted and 300 Darkwraiths back-stabbed... nothing. I do have 94 Transient Curses and 67 titanite chunks. Yay.

Can someone please put me out of my misery? What helps? Has anyone come up with a strategy to have rare items appear more frequently?

Anyone willing to trade them? If they have extras? Even though I doubt anyone does?

Back at it, I guess. Anyone have of their own farming stories of utmost despair?

I have had 2 slabs in about 150 hours of play, admittedly alot of that was not spent in new londo but still.
I would have said 99 humanity at rats take longer than four hours xD

In 8 months of playing I've never gotten a slab from those darkwraiths...cheap ba$tards! :x

Ive heard that being on NG+ helps but ive still havent had one drop. The crystal lizards in great hollow drop them but i think they can only be killed once so you have like ten chances to get one to drop per playthrough. Theres a youtube video of a guys exploiting the bb glitch, starting a new character and collecting like three slabs in thirty minutes. Hate to resort to dirty tricks but im about to try that out myself

My friend farmed the BSS for over 20 hours at 410 item discovery until he finally got one.

I got one to drop within one kill at 100 item discovery. He wasn't what I'd call happy..

The first time I farmed at darkwraiths the second one I killed dropped a slab. I immediately wondered why everyone complained so much until I went back down for another slab 10 times in a row and didn't get any... It just takes luck, and sometimes you just don't have any :|

its all about luck mate and ive also noticed that killing with a critical/counter yields a higher drop chance so leo ring bss 2hr2 would be your freind with the ghost blade, i recently got that bloody thing i thought for months it was just a myth!

Heres the solution (keep it on the low):
Farm Stray demon.. Transfer to new toon, rinse & repeat.. All with the help of the bottomlessbox... that is all

well for the normal ghost blades, only female ghosts drop them and it can take a while. i have countless hrs put into this game 1500+ i would say, but i use bb glitch. for 800 of those hrs i did not bb glitch and farmed legitimately, and i never once got a slab from the dark wraiths(i farmed them for chunks A LOT)

I got 2 slabs once in 1 run. With 10 humanity ofcourse plus ring. No joke.

Well, farmed 70 humanity yet I feel closer to hollow than ever >.<

Okay, so it sounds like enough people have experienced something that I've experienced.

Exactly. I can't believe it hasn't been patched yet. Maybe we'd see less douchebags invading at low levels in the undead berg with +5 lightning claymores.

What am I saying.. they would just use +4 lightning claymores. God, I hate trolls.

Ya... to be fair, I hear they are weak to Fire. And of course, the Catacombs seems to have some... equipment.

Gravelord Sword, Effigy Shield, Silver Serpent Ring, a Fire Weapon... all the goodies ya need to go kills some of those box users. Also, the Ghost Blades and Jagged Blades. Even the Cursebite Ring and the Tranquil Walk Miracle, as well as Gravelord Dance.

Tried it too once, it worked, but I had no fun of it at all. I like to build my chars up from scratch.

Oh yeah it worked, I mean it ruined the fun ! I hoard items so I had enough consumables on the new character to level him up to like 40-50 from scratch, combine that with +9 and 10 armour and a +15 wep and you have gutted the early game thoroughly
