Family Masks

Is there any sure way to get a specific mask when you kill patches? I need the mask of the mother for a build im making otherwise the HP is laughable.

Is my best option just to do it early on then restart character if i don't get it, or would someone be willing to gift/trade it to me? I could trade something on a different character I have most items

Or the simpler option would be to simply not kill Patches. After you beat Nito, Patches becomes a merchant in Firelink and sells you every single mask, so you wouldn't have to worry about missing out an any of them. If saving Patches is out of the question/too late now then you should farm the Pinwheels in Tomb of the Giants before Nito's arena, since they are able to drop any of the masks with a relatively decent drop rate.

Oh does he really? I wasn't aware of that.. is that post patch 1.5 or am i just not as knowledgable as i thought?

It's been there since before 1.05, but he is easily missable if you aren't looking for him. To the left of Frampt's pit area against a wall, and before you get to the graveyard is where you'll find Patches. He sits/squats down and kind of blends in to the environment if you don't stop to look for him.

patches is my favorite npc don't lay a finger on him!!! Ya he sells them like reaper said, i've also gotten one of every mask just from clearing out pinwheel.

Oh no, I've got him to firelink before. Got the crescent axe etc. I've just never seen that he had the masks for sale :shock:

That's what wiki says for mask of mother.

You can also farm the pinwheels in the ToG. WIth 410 item discovery you will get at least 2 per run.
