Summon me? I make most frowns go upside down.

I summon phantoms because I'm too lazy to beat Ornstein and Smough solo. Sure I CAN solo them, but it's just a chore

Anywhere else and it's mostly to give the phantom's something to do. Maybe I don't need help running through New Londo or Sen's, but since I know the most boring thing trying to be a phantom is waiting to get summoned I figure I'll do my part to make a few of them not have to wait around so long

This. I also still play Demon Souls (the Asian version, best one) and there are summon signs all over the place still. Ofcourse it's not for help, but just for fun.

Well ... It sounds like there are only pro's that can handle the game with a chopstik in one hand and the other one tied to their backs...

Why do I summon or get summoned?
Just because I love the Jolly Cooperation attributes of the plus the souls I get.
I summon with some bosses because I go through most of the game with a low level and as I can't beat some bosses buttnaked and using only one fist I Summon somebody so I don't lose all my souls and humanities.
And no, I don't get bored while I am waiting to get summoned. In fact I get summoned as soon as I lay my sign down. And again, and again. There is a lot of jolly co-op action out there.

Im new to the Souls games. I only got into them over the last two weeks, i finished Demons Souls and started Dark Souls monday. They are very overwhelming games at first, theres not that familiarity and run-of-the-mill design most other games have. Never summoned in DeS's, did everything solo, but have in DkS's a few times. I was having a very hard time with that shthead Capra all day and then tonight i finally summoned a guy and he killed Capra in like 5 secs. He had it coming though.

But I would only summon a guy near a boss gate, i wouldn't summon any earlier because i take a while going through a world, i love exploring, taking my time, checking every nook and cranny, sussing out the enemy etc... I can imagine a guy getting bored and leaving, understandably.

Well, I never look for a summon when I am going for a boss, because at this stage, unless I make some boneheaded mistake or the Bed of Chaos is dead-set on being a jackass I know that I will not die to these bosses.

However, if I am walking to a boss fog door and I spot a summon sign on the floor, I almost always say, `Hey, let me get this guy in my game.´ I do this for no particular reason, mostly just because if someone is leaving down their sign I know that they are waiting around to be summoned so I summon them just so that they can get some souls, humanity, and some action.

I have yet to try and solo any boss.
I like having the company of other phantoms, such as when I go and fight Seath The Scaleless..
It takes forever to get to him and The Bed Of Chaos.

I usually wait around to be summoned (Not long SL 166)
and collect souls from beating the area boss.
Also, I make co-op friends on the way so it all works out

Not even the Taurus Demon the first time out?

At that point I did not even understand how the online aspect of the game worked so I just slogged through it alone. But, then again, I had no DeS experience.

I realize that the Taurus Demon is incredibly easy...
and no, not even him.

I have not played Demon Souls either.

I was given the suggestion of making a special chara
that solo's every boss ^_^ It sounds fun, and very frustrating.

..and lonely -sigh-

The Taurus Demon is easy now but *** hell he was hard the first time I saw him! I almost **** my pants when he jumped down on me the first time and was dead before I recovered from the shock. In level appropriate gear with newbie skills he isn't easy so don't feel bad.

I'm currently running a new character that's soloing all bosses and its great. Just did Ornstein and Smough solo and it was awesome! I can't wait for Gwyn!

Taurus is easy, because of the cheesy lunge attack from the tower

i forced myself to solo every boss my first playthrough. ng+ was a different story.
