STR weapons
Does anyone else here think these weapons got Screwed over a little in this game in demon souls the UGS where incredible and the hammers where damn right killer, it seems you have to be extremely good to use these weapons , whereas dex weapons anyone can pick up and use them well, do you think the game designers made str like that so only the hardcore would use them?

Re: STR weapons
I don't think the BKGA is hard to use at all.

Re: STR weapons
They mainly got scrwed over by having dex reduce casting time. It basically meant if you wanted to cast in pvp you needed to be dex based. So I heartily agree. They are also too easy to dodge.

Re: STR weapons
sadly i have to agree with yo billy, dex got all the perks in dark souls which is why everyone uses dex weapons and you dont really see str builds which is cool cause it only makes my builds more unique i guess since i rarely see anyone else use the weapons i use. another thing is that theyre easy to punish with a roll bs and poeple just rather go with whats easier than picking a weapon that's hard to master and stick with it.

Re: STR weapons
yeah tis a shame i quite like my str toon, but most players ive faced outside of FC, just roll bs everytime, and i havnt figured out best way to counter that on a STR build

Re: STR weapons
try not no attack too much, never get too close to them and they'll just roll bs you evry time and try baiting theminto thinking youre gonna attack and instead bs them yourself, its hard but doable.

Re: STR weapons
Dex builds were made to use offensive spells because only offensive spells are sped up by Dex. Str builds were made to use buffs and the sort. Or at least that's what it looks like.

Re: STR weapons
Overcompensation for the awesomeness of the dragon bone smasher, great axe, meat cleaver, and mirdan hammer. But yes, str weapons are noticeably more difficult to use.
I miss the old school str weapons, all kick *** and face breaking.

Re: STR weapons
I ran blessed great axe and blessed mirdan hammer as backup. 18hp/second regeneration base, with regeneration bumping it to 33/second for like 2 minutes and second chance. I was that guy.

Re: STR weapons
Usually I was the one doing the knocking but yeah. When I was outclassed by aggressive players, I played for time and waited for my chance to 2 shot them with my axe.

Re: STR weapons
My buffed GC kicks *** at the Burg, only punished by roll BS, but I've found a way to lure them to my roll R1. I might tweak it because CSS rarely connects, so I think he is better with 32 Int, and rest could go up to End and Str, as he has 50 Vit already. But his backup weapon is the Moonlight Horn, so @40 Int it gets max AR.
