Ricards Rapier or the Estoc? Empty Ricards Rapier or the Estoc?

Post by Opedak Tue May 22, 2012 10:25 am

I'm torn on what one to use for my 40/40 build. I plan on making what ever one I chose fire +10 so the scaling doesn't matter.

What one do you all think I should use?

Ricard's Rapier is pretty sweet, but the moveset for the estoc is better as well as the range. if you want to go for a pure piercing weapon I would go for ricard's, but if you want a weapon that's a little more versatile, go with the estoc. and personally, depending on what your other weapon is, i would not use this as elementals as they scale so well with your stats.

Yeah, in total agreement here. Scaling would serve you much better than the fire path would.

Well thanks, Looks like I'm going to go with a Normal 15 Estoc then.

Yeah, I mean, it's nice to have a powerful elemental as your secondary weapon. But, if this is your primary, you might as well use those stats you've worked so hard on! Plus, a buffed estoc with dmb or cmw can do roughly 700 damage!

Ah but see this is my Secondary, and plus. I"m going for 40 Str and 40 Dex.

Still, Estoc is the best choice it seems.

Have you not considered the Balder side sword?.
I love the move set on this and it as a great reach on it.
    +15 your hitting 200+

I have this as my....well I can not make my mind up to be honest, sometimes its my main and others its my secondary.

Love using this with the lunge attack and a elemental spear in the left hand to keep them pesky`s away.... happy

Aye, I've used it plenty on my other build. I would use it but want to mix it up just a bit and try out one of the rapiers

what about a silver knight spear? it does thrust, looks classy and its r2 is a wide range sweep.
also theres nothing wrong with the regular rapier as it has higher base damage than ricards and 110 critical if your interested in that.

Yeah I know getting complacent on one weapon all the time can get a bit much.

I like the Rapiers for PvE all though I seem to suck a bit with them in PvP.
Although I put this down to my play style more then my skill.
