Stop the Hate Please!

Hey souls forum Lordgod here with a quick PSA..

I have spent hours reading the topics you guys have posted and have found some incredible diamonds in the rough early on in my play experience. The stats not found in the guide book some of you have crunched have been instrumental in my decision of what to outfit my chars with and I thank you.

Some of you post the funniest topics that I get a honest kick out of. Im also grateful for that.

What this thread is about however, is the crying, whining, and hatred some of you display so freely on others topics about players you encounter.

This is the meta game guys several patches in. I for one don't believe in these terms I hear, griefer, spammer, BS fisher, TWOP cheeser or whatever. The list goes on.

The developers put all these things in the game. DWGR, all that stuff, is a part of the game.

All Im saying is the next time you get owned by an invader, don't post pages on it saying they "cheat" or use horrible tactics. Horrible tactics is a subjective concept and if the point is to win than there are none. As far as honor goes, the servers link up people of completely different SL quite often so bowing can actually give one time to come up with a better strategy depsite them already being several times stronger than you. This added time could be argued as a form of cheesing. or being noob to use.

Every mode of offense has a great defense to it in this game which is what I love. Example:

I was killing Hydra in the Basin 2 days ago and get invaded by SoV. The Hydra crushed one of the golems halfway into the ground where it remained alive and stuck. Happened to anyone??

Anywho, by the time he gets there I am fighting the Golden golem (SL 18) and he TWOPS. Now instead of crying TWOP TWOP I simply flip over to him and jump attack towards him with Claymore. He dies in 2 hits. I love how TWOP slows running but attack animations are the same 8)

What I would recommend for players who may be new to the game and having trouble getting past some the time proven "auto kill" strategies is to use and become familiar with whatever it is that seems to kill you every time. It helped me out back in November when things were ALOT more "unfair" than they are now.

If TWOP owns you, learn the range of it and attack furiously the moment you see them bending down.

If BS owns you, carry a WOG for them, or consider swinging a wide arc weapon like Zweihander.

If WOG owns you, learn how to time your rolls. It can be dodged even if you roll towards them while they do it.

If tankers seem impossible to kill, Range the slow guys with magic, pyro, miracles etc. Or a Demon spear. If they are fast tankers, Parry the silly bastard and his slow swinging zweihander, greatsword they love to carry with them.

If 3v1 owns you, stop invading the forest lol.

Play as a hollow until you get the gear to compete in PVP if none of this works. "But i don't want to hollow Lordgod!" Well than learn to parry with Hornet lightning Claymore +5 and never lose.

Ou of all the PVP opponents I face, parrying is used the LEAST by far. No one really seems to expect it most times. Also consider kicking the **** out of the tankers Crsytal shield or whatever. One kick followed up by an immediate big attack should knock the shield clear out of the way. Keep that Endurance up!

Everyone can be beat, noobs, pros, and all in between. The key is knowing their weakness, creating a VERSATILE character, and practice.

not to be a douche but you leaved out something that I myself see as a HUUUGE problem...the "griefers"

You gaved example how to beat alot of this, however, I agree with the most, but how should you handle the "greifer" (People that is having like 1000 health, and you will make about 10 damage at them with a strong attack and they will one hit kill you) in the burg, if you want to do co op?

Those people, are simply ruining the game..at least my opinion.

Oh, This is not a post of ill will towards you, Im just curious if you have a way around this as well.

^He's going after the hate, not the counters, there are strategies against them, usually just being a good player (most greifers min/max for a reason)

bleed weapon like bk and the jagged ghost blade work well, the second especially cause of its high base damage.

^Ghost blade isnt as fast though, bleed is a good idea, however, you would need to bleed a dedicated min/maxer (2500hp) 8 times, when they have 105 armor bleed, + personal resistance (varies by level)
so, not easy.

I'd agree with some of these points and disagree with others to be honest.

Though I wholeheartedly agree that personally I'd rather see less threads moaning about what happened to people and also less threads where people stroke their egos, it gets old sometimes guys, honestly.

my suggestions for bleed weapon was for burg lvl 20 something griefer as at most they'll have 1000 hp which is 3 or 4 bleeds and with the damage from the weapon... that should suffice, though it requires a lot of dodging...

The guys are giving alot of viable solutions to deal with griefers. Im sure serious probably has old threads on this topic in detail (of course thats just me assuming)

Parry...this is an instrumental part of the game that From created to stop over powered attacks before they destroy you. Not everything can be parried but most can and anything that can't is slow enough to dodge easily.

@ Serious, I know right! as a mod/admin (not sure the difference) Im sure you get tired of reading the crap. I don't read it but it still comes up in threads where the topic has nothing to do with people stroking their egos/ complaining yet it still happens. I am not complaining about complaining, only stating if these people focused all that strong pure hatred energy on getting good at the game, they probably wouldn't get owned by griefers.

well allright, still though, if you play the game without BB glitch Like I do, I'm pretty sure you don't have bleed weapons if you ain't a thief..

But I'm just telling it this time here, that MY opinion, in this behaviour, is basically,

Think back to the wild west, gun duel, person1 says "on three", they turn their backs at each other, and starts to walk..

One.........Two BANG! person 1 shot person 2 while person 2 had his back towards person one.
But what annoys me the most is the people that is ruining the game for the newcommers...

TWOP hate is really extensive, I'll be in an honorable looking duel, we both bow and buff, I cast Replenishment only to get interrupted because (Atleast I hope) they assumed I was casting TWOP.

wowowow.... slow down I'm not an admin, by any stretch of the imagination here They have blue or red names depending on whether they are a mod or admin respectively, I just have a different title because I post too much

Still though, unordained mod? I think the mod team are perfectly capable honestly If the time arose when I could be I would take it on, but right now I know it's not gonna happen.

serious_muchly though, I'm not aggressive, I never am (at least I don't mean to be), maybe opinionated is a better way of putting it.. But yes, having to not sit on the fence and be able to speak your mind is a positive freedom of being a regular guy

Car, I think that is one of the few things that is just to get annoyed about, thats not simply taking advantage, it's something outside the game itself so it is actually unjust.

That's a good way of putting it (being so powerful), though we were just discussing the hypothetical of whether it is something you could feel aggrieved about, and well to be fair it's low, though thats one of the things people complain less about, usually as you know it's 3v1s or the like.
