They're about equal, since you have a CMW build I'll make this one fth based.
So, starting class is the knight.
Level up Vitality to 40, Attunement to 10, endurance to 36, dexterity to 40 and faith to 45. This is now at sl 120. You can get end up to 40 and be at sl 124.
You're going to have enough slots for one spell, your choice of Sunlight Blade or Darkmoon Blade. The first if you don't want to be a darkmoon assassin, second if you do.
Choose one of the whips... or both it really doesn't matter and upgrade to +15 normal. Use the best talisman available to you and buff with your weapon buff. If you'd like you can put a few more points into attunement and use power within for extra damage. This build will also be extremely proficient with ANY dex weapon obviously. So have fun with it.
As far as equip goes you're going to be a bit limited. The build centers around you being able to hit hard and fast. I'd recommend using the Ring of FaP and DWGR. This will allow you to wear med armor and still move fast.
