I can't stop playing DkS

I'm obsessed with DkS and I don't know how to quit. I have BF3, Kingdoms of Amalur, MGS4 and even my friend offered me Skyrim and Dragon Age. I can't even touch those games. I always wake up, pick up my phone and begin lurking the forums for new posts. Then I get on DkS to work on my builds and the Lifehunters throughout the day. I have like 5 builds in mind right now (Cursed Artorias, the Egg Head Pyro, the Occult Paladin, Gwynevere and an Oolacile spellsword or magician). I even started a coop campaign through Lodran with spurgun and I'm not even bored about it. Contrary, I'm more excited than ever.

I bought DkS day 1, and after I got the platinum trophy, I let it rest and play other games. Then I wanted to do some PvP, and began lurking the forums searching for the meaning of the pendant. I was even playing Kingdoms of Amalur, but I had to quit it. I wanted to start makung my first SL 120 build. And now I can't stop it.

I successfully found a way to quit dark souls. Play a beta. If you play something with a time limit on how long it will be around, then you feel the urgency of it and can walk away from Dark Souls. Staying away...thats another story. I thought that Ghost Recon beta was over, and my friend, who hasn't gotten far in dark souls, asked me if I wanted to play. Part of me wanted to say no, but I said yes.

I now have another 15 hours smacked onto the game, and I own almost every item in game except the dark sword (traded with Ser Isaac, but I'm getting it back) and the Cleric set. I'll prob have those by the end of next week. And to stack on that, I got that guy with the elite cleric set to bb glitch and send it to me.

I need to stop this game...but maybe later

My Water Bottle is not full of water, but Orange Juice. I've already hit that point.

Is it that bad for you guys? I didn't really find it hard to quit, my interest just wondered away from consoles again. I'm back to supreme commander for now...

I don't see how it's that hard really.. After a certain amount of time you get bored of doing the same levels, fighting with the same monotonous builds online..

You just gotta realise that variety is the spice of life, and just walk away from it now and again

IMO DkS is the kind of game that you play obsessively for a long time, you think about it all day until you get to play, it bothers your everyday life in various ways. but once you have had enough of it you can’t play it again in a long time.

That's a very good summary of what I did

I've done rehab in Skyrim a few times but always relapse

My cure is too buy 3 games at once cause they're on special then hop esomething like King of Fighters doest come along and force me to make a new build.

My rehab's been epic.

After I quit DkS I've done... FFX and FFX-2, GTA vice city, Crash 2, CTR, Phoenix wright... I'm having a lot of fun going through a backtrack of my games

LOL @ the rehabs of skare and serious. I think one of the reasons I can't quit is that I'm not so good at PvP. I'm yet to win a 3 vs 1 without using environment, yet to parry someone outside of duels, dedicate myself for fighting against the gankers in the forest. I'm not even doing hardcore PvP (like the forest, dark Anor Londo). It's like I'm trying to become better and better, maybe not playing the Demon's Souls PvP enough has something to do with it (I didn't made an SL 120, only used my yellow headwrap mage a couple of times in the storms archstone, and now I'm regretting it because DS looks even more awesome than DkS). That's one of the many things that keeps me tied to this awesome game.

This game is downright evil!

I never got amazing at PvP, I was pretty good I think, but I was never a dueling player, I liked doing more than just hitting people with a weapon

I also never really hardcore PvP'd much.. I did do spells in Dark Anor londo and the Forest as a host which was pretty fun but I never really did much PvP outside the kiln or invasions.

I think if I get back into the Souls series, one thing I will do is rock up and PvP in demons.. I agree it looks way more fun than Dark PvP. (luckily im in europe, thank you namco )
