Respecting invaders?

ok.. i understand bowing to show respect... but who here reading this has NOT been attacked while bowing? People who invade you don't deserve to be respected in that way.. white/gold bow, red summon sign's also should be respected as u have invited them to your world.. but invaders who just come in to your house and try to kill you? i'm not bowing at em u shouldnt either.. (just had a tough time trying to get to solaires summon sign while being invaded every time trying to conserve magic spells for the boss fight etc)

Anything?

Telling others what and how to think regarding invaders is ridiculous.

I don't bow to random invaders, and I despise being host in random invasions, but I still respect them. IE no taunts or hatemail and if they bow i don't attack. I don't want them in my world, so I remove them from it by force or play hollow or off line.

Well, you need to make a good assesmemt of the invader. As a general rule, if they bow, you bow back, no exeptions. That may seem harsh, but really, it's no loss for you to bow. If they bow to you first, then I am 100% certain they won't backstab you while you bow. Other than that, play it by what you see. I know that you consider them to be "inavading your house," but they just want to PvP, so they invade you. But really, you don't need to heed my rules. You don't have to read this post, or do anything that I say, but really, they just want to fight, and if you don't, then there's not much to say.

Anywho, the morale of the story is that I can't make you bow, but you really should. Good luck!

That's not entirely true. I've had griefers bow, then BS me when I bow (or have their hidden phantoms do it.

Either way, I bow, but as a good distance so I can't be BSed.

yea thanx for intrest peeps i was gonna make this a poll like: should u give them a chance or just rush em but i did not know how to separate my two options (yes & no) with a ''broken line'' anybody? i usually rush once i get CW or peace walk em

I like to bow when I invade just to show I won't try anything too lame. But who here can say they haven't been BS/ Stunlocked to death by a pretty abominable host while they were bowing?

back to a wall then bow. if they then try to attack mid bow... you'll only have issues with stunlock weapons which can be toggled out of then you can go pivot bs them etc free of guilt.

that's what i'm talking about why bow to a invader pointles lol it's like saying ''hello thief thanx for the robbery'' give em no quater unless u trying out some other stuff just fight invaders that's what they are invading.. The only problem with this is spawn points we need abit of distance e.g. the kiln always on the stairs unless it's a blue phantom which appears on the other side near gwyn

And thats why I don't bow. Also why i learned to parry and keep wog attuned. Seriously, If you hate it so much ask them to bc out with a message or play off line. Its not hard. Like it or not, by playing human you invite invaders, because being human is optional.

So wouldn't playing in a setting that forbids invaders make more sense than complaining and ganking players looking for duels? Esp. as there's a very high chance they force you to waste supplies and a decent chance they kill you anyways?

I don't usually bow first out of distrust, once I was going to trade with a host, sent a message and everything, then I see him try to summon two phantoms so I rush him, he blocks my attacks, randomly starts bowing directly infront of me and I BS him on accident. sad

If he had bowed to me originally or not tried summoning phantoms I wouldn't have attacked and bowed back.

yea.. but playing offline is boring compared... i'm just saying if u invade some 1 u shouldnt expect any favours at all invaders are the smartest toughest most dangerous and highest paying enemies..

I bow to everyone, its just a sign of respect. If you dont.. great it means you are no different from the invaders. I've been bowing since demons and will still bow in the next game

+1 on a couple of your posts. This is a nice departure from the majority of the threads here. Usually the theme is how tragically mistreated and/or misunderstood the invader is.

Honestly? I bow because it takes huevos to invade. You think they intentionally pick your world? Ha, its the luck of the draw. They could just as easily land in a gankfest.

That's probably why I detest most hosts who go for cheap tricks. They have the upper hand from the start, they can easily take field control from the very start or hide and ambush the invader. So if they have to rely on TWoP, WoTG, or need 2 bodyguards then I applaud the invader who willingly goes toe to toe with them.

That's awesome! My largest surprise kill ever was in the depths, I was on a level 35 troll, and when I killed someone they dropped 78K. Idk what level that makes them, but I was stoked.

I've had hosts bow to me in the forest and when I bow back their hiding phantoms BS me. They literally bow as a tactic.

That's about the most backwards thing I've seen here yet. Completely ridiculous. If you're talking about "gankers" (as invaders endlessly do) please say so, because the idea of saying the average host going through a level with his level-appropriate (as opposed to pvp appropriate) gear and with his souls and humanity at risk has an advantage over a seasoned invader who will use all the traps and engine enemies to GANK him borders on the insane.

I was invaded yesterday on a brand new character, had literally just got into the Burg, he bowed and I charged him. Then I realized he was dropping stuff. He gave me a new armor set upgraded to +5, a +15 sword and some other random stuff. Then he kicked the crap out of me. Maybe I should have bowed first lol.
