So your arguement is that you want random invasions for the thrill of it, but if that random is looking for duels and bows to you, gank them? The invader isn't expecting favors, a lot of the time they just want a DUEL and BOW to make that intent clear.

The ones that bow are not trying to "invade your house", they're trying to step into the ring, and you're greeting them by attempting to blow their head off as they duck the ropes out of some misplaced territorial bs.

Host summons two RSS phantoms and they kill each other over and over again..

That's really really messed up :\ I'd kill them all just to punish their noobishness.

I just got done dueling with someone who invaded.

I was in Anor Londo and Knight Solaire Phantom caught him from behind, I banished the phantom and allowed him to heal.

I ended up winning a close duel, and GGs were exchanged. I will respect invaders as long as they don't try anything funny.

I show respect if they show respect. Invading is part of the game, no need to make it a bad part of the game.

He was being irritating so I BSed him twice for the win..

My victory was short lived, he reset his timer. then sat on the Bridge, as soon as I spawned he spammed CSS and SS (About 6 CSS). All missed lol so I just jumped. I don't do well in slugfests.

Hey everybody on this thread, you just restored my love of this game. I've been pvping in the forest lately at SL120, and have been getting ganked non-stop as both an invader and a host (i try to not summon phantoms so invaders don't feel the need to be cheap). After an hour and a half of being killed non-stop.... I gave in. WoG, TWoP, Phantoms, lagstabs, backstab fishing. Idk what came over me, but i just said screw it and wanted to kill everyone. If anyone bowed to me first, though, i backed off and let my phantom fight them 1v1, so i kept a modicum of sanity. Still, though, to anyone i *** over earlier today as Alakazam_827, I am damn sorry.

While what you did was pretty bad, it's human to react like that from time to time. I know after dealing with a bad group of gankers once I just threw caution to the wind and stated, "The next guy I invade, I kill."

I ended up invading a low level who had pretty poor gear, as well he had never PvP'ed before and I just ran up and killed him, gave him a terrible experience. Afterwards I felt bad, sent him a message, talked with him and then actually dropped my sign and helped him kill Sif. Every now and then we have our dark moments, but if we can spring back from them that's what matters if you ask me.

But if you feel hurt, I understand if you respond to players in that way. As I said, it's very human. But that typically means its time to take a break from the game and relax.

@MrBane, yeah i'm in Tally but only for like three more days until finals are over hahah what about you??? i'd love to talk Dark Souls with someone but the only person I know who plays it is my friends sisters boyfriend lol, and i don't know him too well.

@Tolvo, thanks. I know what i did was pretty effed up, i just wanted to try to redeem myself so if anyone invades me again they don't think i'm a true ganker. I think it was just an overall bad day, i failed a final probably and usually having some nice duels in Dark Souls makes me feel better, but that morning it was just not in the cards. I plan on not doing this anymore though lol

Respecting invaders? Watch a lot of youtube videos? some but not a lot of bowing going on. As far as I understand it, gameplay is ... the invader is there to KILL YOU, you (especially if co-oping are trying to get to the BOSS FIGHT before dieing or you can turn and fight.) 3 on one can be fun if the invader is HIGH LEVEL. The Phantoms jobs should be trying to escort you to the BOSS GATE especially if you are LOW LEVEL, killing the invader if possible but not making it the priority unless the HOST heads for the invader of course. I think the GAMEPLAY indicates NO RESPECT it's a FIGHT or DIE situation in this UNDEAD LAND and the NPC invaders don't bow (they might be easy, but they are relentless)

Imo, yes you should respect invaders, it is part of the game so you have to accept it as it is. However if they show that they dont deserve it, kill them by any means possible even if the method u use is considered unethical by the community. As an example the things that make me stop showing respect is the following:

-i bow, they dont bow or they emote as a reply
-if they attack/bs you while you buff or bow
-if they lurk in corners and dont show themselves to fight fair
-if they engage you while you are fighting some mob
-if a 2nd invader comes and they dont wait their turn and gang u
-they run behind mobs a/o run away from the fight and hide
-they pop humanities (heal miracle is ok if not done behind mobs)
-i clearly step away from the fight and let my ghost fight the invader
1v1 but still they come for me (this means they want to farm me,
rather than have a fun fight)

All other things like masked tanks, griefers, twop or any other miracle/spell is ok for me since all can be countered by a good player and if i cant dodge these tricks it means i was not worthy and i deserve to lose and accept my defeat. Just my idea on the subject

I've beed invited into UNDEAD PARISH, sl30's by 2 Japanese players (one host, one phantom) who dropped prism stones leading to themselves and just waited for the Invasion (vengence came), the Invader came in swinging. Also got invited into another game at the bonfire near the sunlight alter (under red dragon) and the Invader closed the GATE as we ran towards the church. (then taunted us from the other side) LOL
What a game!!! I LOVE IT. Invaders will receive no respect from this player especially since the playing pool is worldwide and not everyone signed that constitution. DOES THIS UNDEAD WORLD even have a GOVERNMENT?

what is a Griefer?

A person in an online environment who plays in a manner that causes others to have a negative experience, and intentionally tries to ruin the experiences of others.

DKS isn't really an rpg. Its a 3d dungeon crawler with rpg and hack & slash elements.

Well i would tolerate such behaviour i.e. from patches who is a NON player character and his role in the game is to support the lore of having a sneaky liar who tricks you and drops you in pits etc but we all know that player characters who act like this dont do it for supporting the game's theme or lore ...for sure!

Well if you want to get that serious then only Mages should wear robes and be the only ones to cast spells and they cant wear heavy armor.
