Same - I hope I never have to use Krav Maga on someone - well I did use it once but the only think I did was break the chavs arm when he thrust at me with a knife - I didn't want to hurt him so I just broke his arm these were back in my school days - I said sorry to him and took him to the reception and then got them to ring the hospital before getting taken to the headteachers office where I explained why I chose to break his arm - lets just say the phobos method worked extremely well against any other people that chose to act like an ******* to me.

I'm very shy and nervous and worried about messing up all the time. Most if not all of my confidence is an act that I hold up so that I can operate in society properly.

Aye - that is the same with me Rynn - I am truthfully Socially Inept - how ironic that I am training to become a barrister... I only tell things normally to people that I feel I can trust... It takes me ages to make friends and especially close ones

Re: The "let it out" thread.
I remember some guy posted an amazing one page guide to boosting confidence and making yourself "alpha" once. I've helped friends with it and it works amazingly, as long as you're willing to give yourself an internal superiority complex for a while. I can send it to anyone who wants it, but can't post it here as it has a bit of language I believe.
Sorry I can't relate to you two, so I can't really tell if this guide is helpful to people with confidence problems or anxiety. I've always been confident around people (I'm an XNFP if I recall correctly), but it's kind of hard for me to act in one manner without swaying between poles violently at times. As they say though: A smile is like a mask. Wear it and fool them all.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Rynn and Amos.....I used to be the same way. Lucky for me mathwise you both claim to be the same age. 12 years ago I would have been too shy to go on a forum even, let alone be sociable in person. You're actually doing what I did to become better at this. Acting confident isn't a bad thing. Eventually what both of you will find is that your attempts at being social aren't really attempts but successes. Success breeds success and/or practice makes perfect. Both apply here. You're trying and that's the important part. Who knows, maybe at age 30 you'll also be a curmudgeon ranting on about video game lore and making "clever" catch phrases on forums like "lemon buff" and "scythe scythe scythe scythe scythe."
On a serious note, perhaps I shouldn't be on top of anyone's list to emulate......hmmmmm........

That's what you think. I have already programmed into your brain the next time you will have tacos for dinner. So when that happens just remember where that came from.

For a lack of a better term, bull **** is key to social events. There's nothing wrong with deep down being nervous and shy, but if you can ignore that when talking to others and just keep up the act you really don't have anything to worry about. Trust me, I'm an actor. I'm an incredibly social person, even though I'm actually really shy. As you do, I just put the Tolvo Hat and act as if I'm always sure about everything Rynn, and really that's all you need. You don't need actual confidence, I leave that for arrogant people. I think questioning yourself often is a right on thing to do, as you act like you're king of the room.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
When I came home from school today, I decided to go for a short walk. I then proceeded to wander round the local forest for 2 hours before remembering I had to go home, but damn it felt good to actually get out. Maybe my problem is that I'm not getting out of the house enough - usually I only leave it for school.

I've decided to start excising more and to try and eat more healthily. My emotional state might not have anything to do with my lifestyle, but at least it'll be something to work at.

Walks are awesome , something I like to do (that I should do more often) is go for early morning walks and try to see what birds I can see, I really enjoy it for some reason.
Edit: You ninja'd me Wade Those are great things to start on, sometimes just doing little things like that can really change ones mood

Yeah, I re-kindled my love for nature. I'm lucky, where I live is only a 2 minute walk from a huge forest on the outskirts of Belfast. I can just pop in and relax whenever I want.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Sadly I have to go a ways to find a forest, and the nearest one is closed off for construction as they tear it down. I do enjoy going to parks every now and then and just wandering around looking at the trees. Full on forests worry me, but open fields I always find more calming.
I guess I should let out one of the most absurd fears of mine.
I'm afraid of groups of trees, but I love trees that are alone.
