Man these crystal mobs hit hard. WHat is a good armor to have on? Im lvl 89 str /faith.


My main wep is a claymore plus 3 lighting
and great ax plus 10 reg.

Just seems like they hit REALLY hard....

Even with really great armor they still hit very hard. They are meant to hit about as hard as the enemies in undead burg and parish were hitting you, so the the difficulty curve is relatively stable.

I think I went through the place once with pretty much full giants armor, and I didn't notice the difference, although I'm sure there was. Rather than worrying about armor, I suggest you use a stronger shield if you are having trouble, since any of their attacks can be fully blocked.

just roll away when they are attacking and dont rush it :| also use miracle your gt a fai build after all

i mean is it good to have high magic def on or thrust, strike what?

should i put my claymore to plus 5 lighting?

I hate those archers so much. But yeah, just try to draw them and fight 1 at a time as much as possible. Also, counter attack, wait until their move has finished and then go for it.

Not too sure about the different defences, but maybe upgrade your shield a bit?

us e a shiled and bring great combust and it'll be easy, duke's is the only place i always have to use a shield, those things hit really hard, specially on later ng's.

edit; im pretty sure theyre weak to fire so bring a fire weapon(preferablt chaos if you can have 10 humanities at all time)

Their attacks are purely physical, so any great shield or high physical armor will be fine.

^^ this. it seems as though the crystal based enemies are resistant to lightning damage. however fire an chaos work like a charm.

Arrow them to death and don't forget the one on top of the bookcase near the second bonfire. Close up I found my Fire Uchi pretty effective and they didn't much care for the Gravelord Sword either.

what cov are you? cause if your not a sunbro try joining them for an attack miracle thats works nicely on the boss, for the mobs... fire lots of fire, the only times you'll need magic defense is for the boss the channelers and the crystal cave area.

You can actually use fire spells as long as you have attunement. Have you found Laurientus of the Great Swamp, or Queelana? They both teach Pyromancy, which as long as you have an attunement slot and a Pyromancy glove you can use them. Pyromancy damage scales with your glove, so all you have to do is level up your glove for more damage, not your stats.

Ah, good then. By the way, what upgrade path is the main weapon you are using? I saw you mention the Lightning Spear which really isn't all that good against them. But, if you have a base path weapon like +5-+15, you can buff it with the Charcoal Resin from the Female Undead Merchant, which does wonders against these enemies.

where is the fire ember ? IN demon runes? I need it to make fire aug

im useing claymore plus 3 lighting. Takes 3 hits per enemy to kill

The flame ember is Located in Lost Izalith, and the Chaos Ember near the Ceaseless Discharge's feet. The blacksmith who does fire weapons is located in the catacombs, you can youtube search a video on how to reach him as it's a bit difficult to explain. He can make +5 base weapons +1-5 fire weapons at the start, but you'll need the emebers for +6-10, or Chaos.

found it thanks. I got the choas ember. Can i use that to get to 10 fire? or do i need the large fire ember

You need the large flame ember for that. Chaos does a bit more damage at 10 humanity than fire though.

The Large flame ember is to the left before going to the Firesage room. You will fight some demon centipedes, and two Taurus Demons.

ok fire plus 5 does zilch to these crystal enemys. MY claymore lighting 3 can kill them in 3 hits. Looks like thats what ill use. Thanks for help. Anyone have 10 sun medals i need rank 2. im jonnyhendrix send me a fr

since everything is physical, rocking a maxed out Paladin or Black Iron set would work well, but i reccoment the paladin, as it has high curse resistance, ideal for killing seath.

As for weapons, i think that a black knight weapon will do the trick, because they are incredibly good weapons for NG and NG+

I would personally like to ask why you made your claymore do lightning damage, thats pretty situational for a weapon you can only get one of per playthrough.

non of my armor is plus anything i saved all my twinking. DUnno which set to upgrade lol
