Gwyn's Firstborn Build

After doing a Priscilla build, this is my next plan. The famous, nameless and forgotten God of War!!!!!!



Starting class Cleric, SL 120

Covenant: Sunbros (to jolly coop)


Vit 30

Str 17

Dex 40

Weapons: Dragonslayer Spear (broken Sunlight Altar statue) Sunlight Straight Sword, Sunlight Shield, Sunlight Talisman



Armor: Sunlight Maggot (so grossly incandescent!), Robes, Bracelets and Anklets of the Great Lord (as the broken Sunlight Altar statue), Ring of the Sun's Firstborn, DWGR or FAP or Leo Ring.



Miracles: Sunlight Blade, Sunlight Spear, WoG or Great Lightning Spear.

Edit:

Alternative 1: Put 40 on faith and the rest on strength for maximum Dragonslayer Spear Damage. Substitute Sunlight Spear with Great Lightning Spear and Bountiful Sunlight (you must be on Gwynevere's Covenant for this)



Alternative 2: Hardcore God of War. Let Att stay at base, put 30 Faith and the rest on Strength. Sunlight Blade only.

Full incandescence would suggest ring of the sun princess as well but I'm not sure exactly how well that would pan out for you.

Crystal sunlight straightsword ?

I know, it's for the increased base damage 'cause you have a little str but how are you gonna do when it will broke ?

Yeah make the sword normal +15. Buff it with Sunlight Blade.

It's great with balder side sword, but sunlight straight with SLB will be very good, comboing with that thing is very good in PvP.

I'm liking it why 17 str though? just to try get more power with your sword?

Yeah only one point is spare and it can be assigned to Vit, End or Strength. I wanted him to be more stronger (40 STR) but it'll be too weak for PvP SL 120.

I reckon he'll be good enough for 120 PvP, it's by no means a min/maxing build, but it's a bit different, and I think it will be worth the slightly reduced practicality for the fun of it

Damn I need an opinion here. Do you guys think the God of War would wield Sunlight Spear or Great Lightning Spear?

He's no Gwyn so no. He was exiled and stripped of his godly powers. I don't think Gwyn would allow him to learn his most powerful miracle.

@Viral I'm trying to make him when he was in all his glory as a God. I think he wielded at least Great Lightning Spear... Although the description said he only had respect for arms....

Bump. Still not sure about Sunlight Spear.

I went with Sunlight Blade only, though I feel that he would also use the Greater Lightning Spear. Sunlight Spear is something specific to Gwyn himself, but the Lightning Spears are versions of it meant to be used by the God of War and his covenant members.

As for stats, I would recommend taking Faith down to 40 since you won't need 50 for Sunlight Spear, and cut into your Dex a bit on top of the 10 points from Faith to make Dex and Str even at 33 each. This will not only allow you to one-hand the spear, but boost the AR of both the spear and the Sunlight Sword a bit.

And whether it would hurt your roleplay feel or not, strategically it makes sense to replace the Ring of the Firstborn with a Wolf Ring so your 0 poise wearing butt won't be instagibbed by being stunlocked by a katana :|

its true crystal weapons cant be repaired but if your gona buff something its more damage to be crystal. Just pick weapons that either you dont care about or can be bought from npcs. i crystals all my "get once per game" weapons since i dont use most of them anyway. Might as well crystalize them and buff

Yeah crystal weapons have better AR. I didnt crystallize the sunlight sword because once it is broken, I dont want to kill Solaire for another one. It gives 707 AR with Sunlight Blade.
