I've been meaning to make this thread for ages, but havent really gotten around to it until now. Anyways, post your music tastes here. No flamewars or arguing which band is better etc. My personal favorites:
    Led Zepplin
    AC/DC
    Van Halen
The Silent Comedy (yes, because of the Dark Souls trailer)
    The White Stripes
    The Black Keys

And finally, a band no one has heard of: Soul Coughing

I've heard of Soul Coughing. I have a sample cd somewhere with a track. For me:
    Megadeth
    Kyuss
In This Moment (convinced my wife to use a song from them for our first dance)
    Iced Earth
    Mastodon
    Dillinger Escape Plan
    System of a Down
    Kittie
    Slayer

Railage....No Address? I had never heard of this band until I went to a concert at a bar near Albany, NY. I think Shinedown was the headliner. I went looking for something from them but at that time it was near impossible to track anything down. A couple years later I had Yahoo streaming music and I was like "I know that song"

Albany huh? I live right around there. Not directly in Albany but relatively close by. Was the bar called Northern Lights?

As a matter of fact it was. That little dive got some crazy shows while I lived in the area. Also, forgive me if that's where you live, but one of the few genuine places in the area. Between Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs I got a lot of nostril views thanks to all the noses up in the air. I found only great place for wings too. Sad really, only four to five hours across the state and they haven't imported good sauce recipes yet.

Thankfully I live a little bit further out than that. I agree with you that Albany's not the most wonderful place on Earth, Upstate can be cool though depending on where exactly you are. I'm about an hour west of Albany, but I've been to a lot of shows at Northern Lights over the years. It's a nice little venue. They never charge all that much, regardless of the band, there's always at least one obscenely cheap tap beer when they have shows, and it's small enough that you end up rubbing shoulders with the bands. I saw Poison the Well and Thursday there maybe 6 years ago and I ended up throwing up off the loading dock with the bassist from Poison the Well after the show. I saw the Deftones there too. I think those 3 are probably the only big names I've personally seen there though.

Oh and here's my little list, just the bands I'm listening to more than any others right now, so not to get completely off topic:

    Darkest Hour
    In Flames
Unearth (but only their older stuff, the new stuff is not so great IMO)
    From Autumn to Ashes
    Feast for the Crows
    Dead Man in Reno
    Light this City
    Sworn
and Radiohead, which may seem out of place in my list but is a permanent facet of my life's soundtrack

If any of you are metal fans and have never heard of Sworn you should check out their first album, it's called The Alleviation. They're the best underground death metal band EVER.

If you're an hour west than you're two and half or three hours east of where I live now. I got to meet Rob Zombie there during a signing. Thinking of shows there I think I caught Prong and Powerman 5000 there too. Six years ago? I was living in Ballston Spa at the time. That town was pretty good. If you've been there and know where the comic shop is/was I used to live right above it.

Back to the topic.....I have too many bands I like to list all of them so I'll throw the curveball band I like.

The Cardigans, maybe why I like Quelaan. Her voice kinda reminds me of the singer.

Also......since I see a healthy does of metal fandom here I will give one of my favorite fun facts about music......stop me if you've heard this one.

Dave Mustaine, the frontman for Megadeth did a side project called MD .45 which ended up having a solid album. There's two versions, the second one has Dave on vocals but if you can find it get the original recording. The singer (who does a good job) is Mr. Boddy from the movie Clue.

I know a bunch of people from Ballston Spa. I used to live with some kids that were here for school but basically lived there. I used to go there with them on weekends a lot. I don't really know the town at all but I probably have 10 pretty close friends from there. Small world.

I think I listed the most Obscure bands, because I'm pretty sure no one has ever heard of some of them. Then again, I've never heard of most of the bands in here.
