Got my first Symbol of Avarice

And this thing freaking ROCKS!

I was down farming the baby skellies with some poison resistant gear and the ring of evil eye and was able to not only rack up the humanity I wanted (avg about 1/min), but was also able to score a TON of souls. I've also been equipping it while helping out w/ boss battles and the extra souls you get are significant. Plus it doesn't take up any ring slots.

Too bad it took 250 hours before I got my first one, but once I did I love having it ready to equip at any moment.

Oddly, I get these things all the time. My NG+ main alone has four of them. But I've never once gotten a darkwraith to drop a slab, so it's a bit of a tradeoff to put it mildly.

i got mine early on but never actually used it
once i put it on my toon's head and saw how ugly it looks i put it in storage ever since despite the profit!

it is funny that dark souls never gives something without a trade-off... you get a shield with a nice ability.. it has 95% phys, you get a nice stat boost on your mask... you look like the guy from saw... you want to get extra souls per kill, you have to have a tonque hanging from a chest for a head, etc

Question:

Is using lloyds talismans to get the mimics to sleep and then waking them with a hit until they cough up the item, considered a cheat? I don't think so right?

Yup exactly my point, after I saw this trick it all became so easy to get one of them.

I don't have one yet... Probably because I never kill the mimics anymore! I know all their loot, and don't need any of it, so I leave them all alone until I'll decide to try and get the symbol from them... but I never do! So I have all my mimics alive everywhere, but never bother trying to get the chest-head.

It's the only item I haven't got yet. After almost 500 hours I finally got my first titanite Catch Pole! And now it's raining catch poles on all my characters...

Lol so just do the trick with loyds talismans it's easy and then you just let them sleep.

I just got my first avelyn, the other weapon I haven't gotten after also more than 500 hours is
the trident, don't have dragon torso neither and any of the DM or Sunbro miracles.

Alright, fine, I got it! Jeez. Because Yesuurd told me to. My inventory is now 100% complete*.

*(Except for that fabled and elusive "Elite Cleric Armor"...)

hehehe, that's another armor I don't have and I recently got the cleric one because I always killed patches he annoys me but that cleric armor is so ugly IMO.

I must be one of the few that could care less if they find the elite cleric one.

I don't care so much about the armor (Petrus is about the last NPC I'd want to cosplay as!) as I do the context where it'll be found... It's where it is, and how to get it, that interests me about the armor (if it can be obtained at all, that it).

does the symbol stack with the gold and silver rings?
