I can't really talk though, people would probably look down on me if they knew some of the stuff I like such as anime or this site.

No, it was just a trollish answer to all the hate they got, it fit with the theme of the show (Friendship yadayadayada) so it was perfect .

I'm not sure I understand. Marino, are you not a brony? I thought you were. I'm confused.

By definition i am, i just hate the vast majority of the fandom, that's all . Plus i had a sh!tty past with it .

you got me curious could you tell me why you hate the majority and what hapened?

First of, many have this "holier than thou" attitude, they think people hate them because they're watching the show while in truth they're hated because they're spewing their stuff all over the internet .

That way everyone that says something against Bronies or the Show is by definition a mindless hater that didn't even watch the show .

And when Cloppers (People who jerk of to it) are brought into the discussion you read stuff like "Oh, not EVERY Brony is like that!" and "I hate those too! They're not real Bronies." .

You see, Bronies victimize themselves against the "hatefull Internet" while in truth the so-called "haters" are right in many many cases .

So, that sucks .

Then there are guys like, oh i better not tell his name, don't want to be branded as a inciter .
Anyway, he is one of these guys that "analyze" the show for any deeper meaning, like the mating habits of the Ponies, you know, stuff that isn't there .
He's just selling his retarded headcanons off as facts .

And then there was this other guy, he made a Youtube account and uploaded two analysis Videos simliar to that other guys Videos .
On the very next day he made a Video about an "Emergency Hiatus" and outright asked the community for Money .

And then there was this other guy, he was making Episode Reviews and Music, he was into the Fandom for quite some time .
In April he made a Video asking for Money so he cna go to the Brony Cons .

And you know what ? They even got the Money !

I could write so much more, but let me tell you this .
The Brony fandom is the worst thing i've ever been into, aside from this Forum i only know 4 decent Bronies personally .

It sucks and i hate hate hate hate hate hate hate them !

but at least i dont shove the show or community down anyones troath, i dont like people that does that and damn me i will not be a hypocrite.
also i am more into the show than the fandom (exept art and music).

Woah there Kefka, let's not go full on crazy here.

Whether "love and tolerate" started as an "anti-trolling/re-trolling response" it's still rather indicative of what it took to keep people going back then. As hostile of an environment as Bronies started in, they needed something to give them confidence, and even it was just a farce and people were only throwing it around as an excuse to basically flip the bird and tell the haters IDGAF, that phrase kept us going. There was a nice middle ground where, for a while at least, it actually was pretty genuinely regarded by the Bronies but that was before we got just big enough to escape 4chan but not quite big enough to be commonly recognized on the internet.

Now that we've (almost) grown to the point of acceptance the fanbase is too big to be ruled by any one defining factor. That said, I'll agree that right now it's kind of an outdated "slogan" but it had meaning at one time. Personally, I still adhere to loving and tolerating, but mostly because it's just good general life advice for dealing with people who have different opinions and perspectives. "When someone disagrees with you, you accept their perspective wholeheartedly and acknowledge it as valid while not letting it sway your own resolve or diminish your outlook on the other person."

Looking at this post, you seem to hate the fanbase just as completely as you assume that they hate the haters, when in truth alot of us just don't care about haters anymore. I'll admit, there was a time where I myself was a "fake brony" and it wasn't until I stopped thinking of "love and tolerate" as just a catchphrase and actually read into what it meant that I changed that. As time went on I've noticed that the general shift in the fanbase has been about the same. Whether it's from the older Bronies doing what I did or newer Bronies coming into the fandom when we're at the point where we drastically outnumber the haters, as a fanbase we no longer feel the need to really defend or justify our hobby and the haters have largely given up on attacking it.

TL;DR: There's really no need for any hate anymore with this fandom, either to or from it. We just are what we are, and it sounds like you're still living in the era where haters/anti-haters were actually something to be concerned about
