How to poison the False King Allant

Hello folks,

I have a sl40 strength char and heavy difficulties to beat this King!
I read a suggestion to poison this enemy! But I don't have anything effective to do that. How or with what means can I do this? Or do youhave other suggestions against this King?

I use Dragon Claymore+5, what is pretty good and the Purpla Flame Shield+5 is also not bad. Perhabs a little heavy.
I wear no other armor. I doesn't help much and makes me to slow.

I can reduce the Kings HP, but then suddenly his attacks are so massiv, lots of it in a row that I die.

I give him always only one smack. I keep attention of my endurance bar, I keep distance! I'm getting little frustrated, honestly.
Maybe poison works! But what is the best way to poison him? Can I put some stuff on my blades?

The poisoning method is one of the most infamous examples of cheesing a boss that is commonly used against Demon's Souls.  Poisoning is only really effective if you cheese him with it as well, otherwise you're best off just trying to beat him normally.

Anyway, the process is actually pretty simple, but requires a bit of magic (which it doesn't look like your build can use unless you've done the Freke de-levelling trick).  So here's how it goes; you only need three things, the Thief's Ring, the spell Poison Cloud, and some way of recovering MP such as Spices, a Crescent weapon, or the Fragrant Ring.  Equip the Thief's Ring before going through the fog into the boss room and as soon as you enter, run to the left or right of the stairway and hide behind the wall.  Stand perfectly still for a while.  You should see Allant walking forward slowly, and when he makes it about 2/3 of the way across the room he will stop and turn his back to the stairway.  At this point, slowly walk out of hiding up to the top of the stairs (if you start running instead of walking he will notice you even with the Thief's Ring).  Once there, as long as you don't get too close or start running, you can cast Poison Cloud to poison him and even though he's poisoned he won't notice you.  So you just stand in that one spot just at the top of the stairs and continually cast Poison Cloud every 3 minutes or so until he dies.  If I recall correctly, it takes about 8 casts to kill him at PWWT on the first playthrough, so it will take a while, but you'll never have to fight him.

If you try to use any other poisoning method such as Mercury weapons, you'll find that it really isn't that impactful in terms of damage in the heat of the fight, and you'd be better off just going with a normal, harder-hitting weapon.

If you can fast roll, do it, then time your attacks in between his. Lose the Dragon Claymore and go for something faster and STR scaling, like a Crushing Knight Sword. That's the only real advice I can give you. I never tried to poison him but if you want to do that, you'd need to have magic and Poison Cloud, along with the Thief's Ring.

get a harder hitting weapon and make sure to survive one hit from him - it's a very good fight and u learn how to finish grass eater in pvp

Micha are you wearing strength ring? Also, as the guys said use a faster weapon. Another thing you can do is wear lighter armour so you can move faster. You can always change back later. You gotta watch him because he aggros you worse than flame lurker did. Best thing is to hit and run and try NOT to get trapped.

There's another cheese method that would work too but take the suggestions above. I have never felt more accomplished than I did after this fight.

Now I'm at sl 23 and I again work on this Boss (It is a ng but also a str build).
What is better? Using the dark silvers hield (100% anti magic) or the more stable yet heavier purple shield? I have again real trouble with this king!

In my opinion, neither really. Make sure you fast roll and roll through his attacks, then hit him in between. Use the Ring of Great Strength for that. But if you really had to use a shield, don't rely on the Dark Silver Shield's 100% magic block as you'll get destroyed by his onslaught, instead go for a shiled like the Adjudicator shield, while it doesn't have 100% block its damage reductions are alright and it's light, plus it gives you 8HP/s if you fully upgrade it.

That's the fire reduction, its magic reduction is 50%. The timing of Allant isn't really that hard to get except when he start doing his combo. You'll get it down

Yes he now is down (after three evenings of trying and despaire). I don't want to know how long it would take me with a sl 1 char!
With the Adjudicator shield you are right, it's the fire-reduction! But anyway, I don't like this shield - not enough stability. And imo it looks stupide. At the end I chose the fully upgraded knights shield. And the fully upgraded knights sword as a reasonable fast weapon.

Best is to stay at medium distance. So he often does his AOE-charging thing what gives the chance to hard hit him.
