I see no reason why the said NPC has to be a baby.
Seeing some tiny version of existing NPC doesn't fit DkS at all.
My NPC would be Priscilla. Normal version. I would probably just stay with her in Ariamis and...

Would take Quelaag, scaled down a bit. Helpful spells, interesting conversation (basing this off the text dump) and good golly THOSE LEGS...

Kalameet, the Hell Kite or one of those cute drakes. I've always wanted a dragon as a pet and the five dogs next door would stop their yapping for sure. Failing that, a Dark Wraith would be kind of interesting. I'd take him into Dorothy Perkins just to see the reaction of the sales girls. Then I'd buy him a dress.

I knew a guy once, his name was Patches. We had a whole lot 'o fun in Lordran, we'd drink estus till we would hurl over the corpses of the bonewheels at the catacombs. Heh, it was a pain to kill them but there was something magical about killing bonewheels in the Catacombs.
Then... well then after we got done partying with Priscilla and Gwynevere we would head over to the top of the undead parish to watch the sun set. We would always have a great time, just enjoying how great Lordran was. I wish it stayed that way.
THEN IT HAPPENED. It was on a cold day in Lordran, so really the average day, I went to meet him at the catacombs but he was gone. I looked and looked but could not find him, so I decided to try a different area... the tomb.
It wasn't hard getting in, I got interrupted on my journey by some nutjob calling himself "Pinwheel" I smacked him with an unupgraded broken sword and he went down crying, what a whimp. Then I saw him, standing at a cliff smiling that same odd smile. I went up to talk to him and then he started talking about some goods down below and then... then he kicked me down.
Thoughts raced through my head. Why? Why Patches why would you hurt me like this? Tears rushed down my face as two burly men rushed out and attacked me, I parried them and they died. However, my anger wasn't erased I wanted revenge. I rushed up through a conveniently placed walkway, sprinted over to Patches, and kicked him down the ledge. I hesitated but before I knew it I jumped down on his broken body with a plunge attack, killing him.
Ever since that day, I still remember his face smiling that odd smile. Oddly enough, I miss him and my life has been filled with regret because of what I did. Sometimes when I'm shoving my broadsword into players backs at sunset, I look as the sun goes down among the ruins of Lordran and softly cry as I parry a predictable r1 gold tracer spam.
So yeah, I would like Priscilla to follow me around she'd be great to cuddle under the sunset.

Petrus, so that I could kill him in some other place than Firelink Shrine for once. Kicking him into the Abyss or crushing him with the Parish gate sounds nice.
