My computer is still offline. On the other hand, i found out how to use the web browser on my ps3! So, I'm back! For now, at least.
The maxed out dark bead epidemic seems to have gotten worse; I've seen multiple players moving faster than I think is usually possible; and theres the insta-karmic-justice-from-a-catalyst. Ithink the hackers are encroaching on the psn.
I've also noticed that with the speed of invasions and tactics employed, host in the forest are pushed to gank just to make things fair for them. C'mon, guys!
Also, I learned how to parry and toggle-escape while I was away.Thouself, prepare!

The instant Karmic Justice spell is a hack called "Ancient Pulse" (comminity name).

It's thought to be a left over of Karmic Justice damage and knockback testing (as getting it to proc can be tricky).
As far as hacks go it's not too OP, it's pretty much just a Faith version of Dark Bead, that said I don't like it as it usually comes with inf hp and stamina, along with curse on hit and other nasties.

Shame its on PS3, however people have been able to hack PS3 for a long time, they just didn't because it was too hard (encryption and such). Recently it seems someone has made it easier or put together a detailed tute on how to do it so it's becoming more rampant.

Thankfully it seems Sony isn't as lax as GFWL when it comes to bans for system tampering.

I mean wearing the Dusk crown, bellowing dragoncrest ring and so on making dark bead hit for 1400+.
I've also noticed a weird thing with pursuers and dark bead; i get hit by something that eats through my shield stability ( and sometimes health ) before the spell has even finished casting. Sometimes it's like getting hit by an avelyn, sometimes it's like getting by the spell before it's cast and then the regular spell as well. I suspect this is intentional and it can 1-shot me at 1590 hp with the crest shield and full stamina.

1400+? I have hit with DB for over 1900 on someone with full havel's. 50 int+TCC+CoD+BDCR=ownage. Note though that the only reason I even know this is because I was trying out a Moonlight build in Undead Burg, but there were too many **** there so I attuned a single DB to 1-shot anyone I didn't like.

As for your bug, it's probably pre-cast pursuers. If someone casts pursuers before you spawn, they're invisible to you. Same story for the soulmasses.

No, Imean i get hit by it as they're casting it; if that was it, then with that timing, it would replace the soulmass/pursuers that were already around them. It's either an accidental glitch, intentional glitch, REALLY weird lag, or a hack. And that dark bead hits that hard AND eats through shield stability is balance-breaking. Iused to defend dark bead and pursuers. ( and I still do for undusk-and-bellowing casting of them ) Ihave not yet said ANYTHING in this game should be nerfed. Now I'm saying that combination should.

Sorry to hear about your hacker experiences on ps3. I've been playing for a week straight now, and I haven't seen anything but twinks/MM griefers in the Burg and Parish.

Every single invader is either brand new and might not even have meant to use the cracked orbs they found in firelink, or a douchebag twink mule...good thing I've been there regulating.

Other than that same sh!t different day dude.

If you invade and someone already has Pursuers cast you won't see it, so they can start recasting it as the first invisible one is in flight, this could be the reason.

In saying that, I often get hit with Dark Bead before I even see them start to cast it just because of lag. Dark Bead + Pursuers will demolish any shields stability and then a sizable chunk of health, it's truely overpowered as it stands and the arguement for it not being OP is that you can dodge it, which is not a valid reason. It's not that you can dodge it, it's what happens if you don't, and 1 hit kills abound with that spell.

On my Hypermage I can easily deal 4000 damage with Dark Bead alone, 4500 if I want to give myself a challenge with trying to kill them before Power Within kills me. That's at 44int and 16str, if I take it to 50int and 40str with Manus Catalyst I would get even more damage.
Couple that with Pursuers and I haven't found anyone to live through 1 blast yet. Most people die by 1/5 of the Pursuers.

Granted that's Hypermode damage, but still, it's not a challenge to win with those spells.

If you want to get into a discussion on Dark Magic I'd be happy to provide a nice list of why (imo) it's OP and what they could do to fix it.

I've used both before at 32 int with no boosting equipment. I think the damage with that is entirely fair.
I've noticed the surge in apparently new players. Somehow, I almost NEVER get hatemail ( even when I've ganked :/ although, I'm pretty respectful about it and I only use fair tactics, teammates aside )
