I'm catholic, my whole family is catholic and I grew up in catholic churches

I do believe in God and the Bible, I pray everyday and stuff


BUT, I was always interested in Sociology and Mythology, ever since I first saw Greek mythology for the first time

I began to search about those things, every culture has a diferent God and religion, and I enjoy to understand more about it

After some researchs, I found out that many different religions are so similar to the catholics in Nature, that they have the same principles but with different names


E.G. North American natives. Their Mother Earth would be equivalent to our God. But, what if they're the same? even being catholic, I actually began to believe in some of these religions, not couting rituals, but I've started to enjoy shamanism, chinese monks and stuff

question: do you guys believe in more than one religion, are interested in them but don't believe or dont believe in anything?

For purposes of simplicity I never tell anyone my religion, but I do have a giant interest in the Fae. As you can see from my location. Hard to learn so much about it and not believe in it a bit. I also have a giant theory about something very much related to this, but it is much too long and difficult to describe and I'd rather not bore everyone in this forum.

I honestly do not know how that would work (believing in more than one religion), doesn't religious dogma/doctrine expressly state that their gospel is truth? And truth is truth, you can't cherry-pick.

I just went to take my dog out, and there was one of those gigantic junk mail fliers in my mailbox advertising one of those contests that nobody ever wins designed as advertising to bring people into the franchise sponsoring it. It was clearly just delivered, in the dead of night like they knew they were committing an atrocity, and I don't blame them for feeling that way. It's an 11"x17" glossy print out, with a large like 3"x4" piece of plastic attached to it with a little plastic tab sticking out. You pull the tab and a light comes on that displays a number you're meant to bring into the business to be entered into a raffle or something. Anyway I took an environmentalism course awhile back and learned that junk mail like this is the #1 contributor of wasted paper on the planet. I can't remember the statistic of trees that are cut down each year for it, but I remember being sickened by it when I heard it, and that's on top of the statistic of people that pull them right out of their mailboxes and put them directly into the garbage. It wasn't enough for these people to just waste paper though, they've also attached plastics, and whatevers inside it powering the light behind the numbers, which is most likely some kind of small battery, which coincidentally are also a major contributor to world pollution because they require metals that aren't easily biodegradable and when they do finally break down they leak acids into the ground, or the ocean, or wherever our societies throw them. I looked up and down my street and there's one shoved into every mailbox I could see. Some houses, like mine, had 5 or 6 mailboxes, each with own flier. It's enough to make you sick. The things we do, and ignore, and refuse to accept. It's ridiculous. I'm responding to the contest holders via the email on the flier to tell them what jackasses they are.

Car, if you believe in a benevolent God, who sincerely wishes the best for us then consider this. Might this God be willing to provide appropriate tools for everyone to reach a correct conclusion? With the inability of early civilizations to make direct contact to spread a religion, it would be up to our God to instruct to some degree. Now, each culture goes into the process with different backgrounds meaning that the best tools will be different for each group, aka differing religions. In this view, God provided the world with many paths to the same location.

Carphil, born a catholic raised in a very catholic household(got smacked across the ears for eating smokey bacon crisps on an ash wednesday), spend 6 six years as an altar boy, my ma wanted me to be a priest and i'm anything but religious for the past few years. Different gods\similarities, it could be down to intrepation based on culture or plaguerism as in "oh i like that idea" for example the 10 commandents almost match the original 10 laws of babylon word for word. And pretty much what SK said.

However, the present Grintwist does not know this and thinks they're just feeding into their own dementia.

The third post however signifies that there is a third Grintwist within the post. This Grintwist is not from the past, present, or future as this Grintwist transcends time itself. Who exactly is this Grintwist?
