This might be the first (or at least one of the earliest) endless running games. You cannot stop your character from moving. You only slow them down and speed them up.
Rather than a sidescrolling endless runner like today's variants, this one featured everything coming toward you
Jumping is a major element with one of the most dramatic examples of "hold button longer, jump higher" physics of all time
The game was bundled with 3D glasses and had a 3D mode to attempt to give greater depth to things coming at you.

It was Maniac Mansion, and it was microwaving a gerbil, or some kind of little mammal. I cant remember what kind.
